" It is truly time to do something about MS
by Andrea F.
Every hour someone is newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Despite decades of study, the causes of this disease are still unclear, and there is no cure.
One interesting aspect is that more than 25,000 veterans who are being treated through the VA system have a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. A study published in the Annals of Neurology recently identified more than 5,000 cases of MS among U.S. veterans that were deemed "service-connected.
I believe that this is more than mere coincidence and I think that more funding is necessary to explore the possibility that something in the environment could trigger this disease among veterans and other Americans.
I personally am not a veteran but I am an MS patient who desperately wants to see something done.
I'm urging our federal legislators to support the $15 million defense appropriation for MS research funding through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs."

Andrea,
How about instead of extracting $15,000,000 from your fellow Amercians at the point of a gun, you organize a fund raiser to get your fellow Americans to voluntarily donate the money to the cause.
But no, its easier to have government force them to give.
