TODAY: WSJ Recently Required By Murdoch Stands Alone In Praising New FISA Law
WSJ editorial page stands alone on FISA. Today, the Wall Street Journal, recently acquired by Rupert Murdoch, praises the administration’s new FISA law:

Opposition from the Democratic left to this intelligence program isn’t merely part of the partisan blood feud against a weak President near the end of his term. It is part of a far larger ideological campaign to erode Presidential war powers. Goaded by the ACLU and much of the press corps, many Democrats want to use the courts and lawsuits to restrict Mr. Bush and future Presidents in their ability to gather intelligence in the war on terror.

In the last few days, in contrast, at least nine major newspapers have come out against the new law, calling it “unnecessary” and “dangerous.”

1. I think Paul Gigot's WSJ editorial page would be alone on FISA
regardless of who owned the paper.

2. The wsj editorial page has always been right-wing. Murdoch has nothing to do with that.

4. Reactionary rag
The editorial page of the WSJ is the most reactionary and right wing of any paper in the country. The business reporting may be excellent, but I wouldn't have the paper in my home because of the editorial policies.:puke:

6. I do not read the WSJ, but from editorials posted on DU I would say
that the purchase by Murdoch will have little impact on its editorial policy of right-wing garbage.

7. Like the Murdoh acquisition had anything to do with THAT!
I realy don't get why people are horrified by Newscorp takeover of WSJ. Editorially, the WSJ cannot get any more conservative: it is the raggiest rag of editorial pages in the country, a disgrace, and has been for years.
