5. I hope the Tsunami warning network is up and running
Even a deep quake can cause a big tsunami if there is enough movement.

7. Prelim reports sound like things are ok, we shall see
JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) -- A powerful earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Java late Wednesday, shaking tower blocks in the capital of Jakarta and causing people to run from their homes in panic.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage from the quake which the U.S. Geological Survey measured at 7.4 on the Richter scale. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no danger of tsunami.

The quake was felt in west and central Java island, according to CNN's Kathy Quiano, who said many people took to the streets in panic followed the tremor which struck close to midnight local time.

"I was just getting into bed on the second floor of my house. You rarely feel these things in Jakarta so I knew something was wrong immediately," John Aglionby of the Financial Times told CNN

10. Looks like it's in shallow water
More drag, less tsunami, though if the movement is along the "right" vector, it could still be disastrous.
