I have hope...James G. Carr sits on the FISC
Judge Carr (N.D. Ohio) was appointed to the Foreign Surveillance Intelligence Court on 5/19/02 and his commission expires on 5/18/2008.

Judge Carr wrote an incredible decision in October 2004 ordering then-Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell (remember him?) to obey HAVA and allow people to cast provisional ballots for federal office. Unfortunately, Judge Carr's remarkable order was overturned by the 6th Circuit.

I met Judge Carr personally several times, and worked on employment law cases before his bench. He is as fair-minded a jurist as one could possibly hope for.
