Poll question: The Sum of All Fears......Bush Beyond January 2009
:scared: :scared: :scared:

There's a clip from the Young Turks that airs as an AAR promo in which Ben says he's Zero minus Zero percent worried that Bush will declare martial law and stay in office, then Cenk says he agrees with Ben, but he thinks it's only a zero percent possibility, not zero minus zero.
ANYHOO, what do you think the chances are that such a scenario - a declaration of martial law and nulling of the election - could happen? Part of me thinks Bush doesn't really enjoy being president, and can't imagine him staying. But another part of me thinks, well, he's just the face of the PNAC/NeoCon machine, which has no plans on leaving. .......

What do you think? What are the odds of this worse case scenario?

1. He's a liability to the neocon movement.
I doubt the powers behind him would want to make their lasting power play with Dubya.

Now if something happened to Bush, and Cheney was sitting when 2009 came around... Then I could see something going down.

4. Cheney may attempt to stay in power beyond 2009
but I doubt if he wants bush around his neck, getting in the way and fucking things up.

Nobody has any respect for him and he'd be a big anchor on the dick's plans.

I think the repulsicans may attempt this but you asked will bush be around.

5. I'm making a wild guess here. As much as Repubs can't stand Bush, I can't imagine
how much they despise Dick.

His approvals are what? Single digits? MKJ

8. You are more optimistic than I am.
No one protests anything anymore.

I bet they could declare him emperor for life and 75% of the public wouldn't even blink.

9. BushCo Has To Stay in Office

I figure them to be pretty smart. They must have guaranteed George - who is totally chickenshit as we know - that no legal harm can come to him. So they have to stay in power and they must have how to do it figured out.

11. Depends on IRAN
If they can find an adequate excuse to attack Iran, all bets are off.

13. He's meticulously set the table for it.
but I don't think he has the guts, knowing it may result in armed confrontation. (so would removing Bush from office before his term's out, btw)
