'Protecting America' vs 'being a chickenshit'

Let me start by saying that I really do believe there are threats to the US and, literally, to our way of life.

I also believe that it is possible for me to be hit by lightening.

This is about the hand wringers and posturers and panderers that seem to populate the halls of the US Congress and (wo)man the Presidential Stump ........

Do you think the greatest majority of our elected pols believe their votes for this or that or the other (most recently, FISA) are going to help our national security ....... or do they fear that the Mighty Wurlitzer might mention their name derisively in the next set of talking points?

1. I went with unsure, because having met more than a few Congressmembers

I am not terribly impressed with their overall knowledge and grasp of the issues. I'm guessing the Dems who voted for the FISA bill and funding of the war just went along with their "trusted advisors" from the DLC and repeat the appropriate talking points as necessary. Most of them really don't know what they are doing, or why.
