Get your daily Bob Murray right here! What a maroon!
Edited on Thu Aug-09-07 12:17 PM by Texas Explorer
He's still stickin' to his tectonic plate shifting story. But, oh yea, if the miners are dead, well, that was caused by an act of God and so him and his company are not responsible.

Sorry my voice is bad. I've been trying to cover my worthless ass for four days without sleep. Please, you must feel sorry for me.

The guy has literally talked himself into laryngitus. He's a piece of work I tell ya.

1. The more he talks,
the more I wonder if there is a lot more to this story
than we know. I will not embarass myself by revealing
the level of my paranoia by speculating.

5. I used to think that too
but when the facts came out they were often more outlandish than my paranoid suspicions. My guess is it will be the same in this case,

2. Also, you've seen the pics on TV of this asshole taking the
reporters down in the earth to the blockage? Well, if you ask me, looking at it I'd have to say that

1) The seismic readings were a result of the collapse not the cause of it and

2) They were retreat mining and everything past the point where he took the reporters is nothing more that a verticle defining point between what was once a mine floor and what was once a mine ceiling.

3. I think he didn't want his company name on TV during "his" ordeal
Hey Bob.... Who tore down the sign at the shaft entrance?
Did you do that before the rescue started?

Nobody would want to see "Crandall Canyon Mine...Bob Murray owner" on TV all day.

6. Meltdown In Progress
Murray is gonna fall on his own arrogance and petard...and he knows it...so he's gonna go down "fighting". He's no yokel, but a big player in the mining game...and he saw how the media will overpower this kind of story and he's taking pre-emptive action. He's keeping the cameras away from the families and dictating how this tragedy is being covered. He gets a pass as the recovery efforts go on, but his time is running out and he knows it. This looks like a man who is on the verge of imploding and I get a feeling we'll be witnessing it at a future news conference.

What is interesting is how he's circumventing his own industry...that I'm sure would prefer a far more professional face/voice speaking to this disaster. There've got to be a lot of other mine company owners that are cringing on seeing this dude on the tube as they know that he's now the face of the entire industry...and his fate is theirs.

7. He's scared shitless thats for sure
You can hear the stress in his voice as he screams out his innocence at these press conferences. Anybody with half a brain can sense the defensiveness, and that includes the reporters in attendance. Yet we never hear a word of skeppticism on any news program. Are they waiting for the inevitable meltdown?

8. "Developing...."
It's a tricky line for the media here...as we saw how overboard they went with the Sago mine tragedy last year. Those cameras inundated the families and they surmised what had happened even while the rescue efforts were underway. They caught a lot of noise for this and methinks they're holding their powder this time. Also, Murray put them on the defensive...and any attacks on him may be seen as "exploiting" the tragedy.

The skepticism is definitely out there...anyone whose seen these stories in the past (and that's most of us), know how bad these things can turn out and that there's a "truce" right now until the miners fate are determined.

Once that happens...the ends will justify the means. If the miners are found safe, Murray looks like a hero...if not then the blame game begins and he's target number one.

9. Retreat mining. He wishes we'd stop using that term.
How about this, then? "OK, guys, we're gonna blow the hell out of that last pillar of coal that's holding up the roof, so on the count of three, everybody RUN LIKE HELL!"
