Anyone listening to Thom Hartmann right now? |
|
He's got someone on (obviously a Puke) who is using the old argument that the dividends people get from their stocks are taxed twice, so therefore rich people are justified in only paying a 15% tax rate.
Argument is totally flawed. He says that the money is taxed at 35% before it gets to the shareholders, and then taxed again when it gets to the shareholders. Thom keeps saying that it is the corporations that pay the 35%, so therefore it is not double-taxed on the shareholders, which is the argument that the Puke is making.
I only caught his first name, Phil.
And, in true Puke fashion, he is talking over Thom, putting words in his mouth, saying that Thom agrees with him, when it is obvious that Thom does NOT agree with him.
God. These people make me crazy!

Thom was having none of it, though. Every time the guy said that Thom agreed with him, Thom said no, he did not agree with him.
Guy kept making the argument, of course, but the only thing he REALLY succeeded in doing was making himself look like the ass he is.

I am also reading Screwed right now and this makes his show even more thoughtful lately.
