We Americans are a troublesome lot. We can be tolerant, but it's never safe to push our tolerance too far. That's precisely the mistake that too many tyrants and bullies make. The American people are, all too often, "go along to get along" types.

Our government might not be, and factions within our society that often infiltrate our government, but the people, as a whole, just want to be left along to live their lives without too much shit from anyone.

But when we're threatened, it tends to piss us off. When someone makes good on that threat, watch out.

There's a stripe of spirit within us that resents fear and those who try to use it to manipulate us. We're not by nature fearful. Americans have pushed the boundries too many times to be a nation of cowards.

When a savage, cowardly fuck threatens American lives (allegedly) because of our "values" of tolerance and fair play, we get uppity. When a savage, cowardly fuck uses this to manipulate us into a war of convenience on false pretenses, we get downright pissed.

If Osama Bin Laden hates us because we tolerate gays, and freedom for women, and all the things they say they hate about us, well, fuck him and the horse he rode in on and the little dog that followed behind. Fuck him in the neck with a big stick. Sideways.

If he hates us because our government is ran by a bunch of pricks with delusions of grandeur, well, fuck them too. Fuck Osama Bin Laden, Fuck Saudi Arabia, and FUCK George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and that whole lot of Republican Mafia bozos. Fuck the oil companies and the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies and the whole military-industrial complex while we're at it. We know the name of YOUR game. Fuck the "Moral Majority" and their bullshit too. Fuck James Dobson and Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh and, well, unFuck Ann Coulter. I wouldn't do her with Dubya's dick.

Why should we cower in terror of either band of terrorists? We're Americans. We've a history of kicking the asses of bullies and tyrants. As George III, or Hitler. You think you can scare us into compliance with a little saber rattling and ghost tales around the campfire?

Our government scared us into a war with Iraq. Straight out lied to us and made us jump to the attack when it wasn't warranted. It was a chickenshit manuever straight out the gates and there are a LOT of Americans standing by right now saying "why, those bastards set us up."

Bingo.

Maybe Osama Bin Laden and his merry band of wankers are planning on striking in the U.S. again. Maybe we're not used to being in the line of fire. But if you think we're going to cower in the corner under the bed just because it's a possibility, FUCK you. Build your walls to make us safe, and build your camps to house the people who refuse to live in fear of you OR your declared nemesis.

Bring it on.

Fuck all you bullies and tyrants. Try to grind us under foot and find out that Americans are spiny bastards. Afraid of YOU? You should be afraid of US.

Our government may have forgotten what Americans can be like, but we'll make sure to remind them. We're the sleeping giant, remember? And the alarm clock has been going off in our ears for long enough we've broken the snooze button.

The People are waking up, and that's never been good for bullies and tyrants. We'll shoulder whatever burden there is and take the fight to the enemy, no matter who that enemy is. We've done it before, we'll do it again.
