DFA New Jersey impresses me so much.
They seem to be so active.

Invading the Jersey Shore

A big thanks to all who braved the infamous Garden State Parkway summer traffic to attend the 3rd Annual DFA At the Beach at Moby's Deck in Highlands, NJ! It was so worth it to see so many good friends and meet some new ones! This event gets bigger & better every year! Philly For Change and Democracy For New York City were represented and we were thrilled that they could come! So now it's a Tri-State Event! We heard from DFA nationally endorsed candidates Ed Zipprich and Gina Genovese who fired everyone up! If your not working on a campaign yet, why not go lend them a hand? The Iraq Summer Project guys came by oh and Tom Wyka and his family, oh I can't remember everyone, but a super location, weather, food and friends made for a memorable day! Hope to see ever yone again at the NJ State Democratic Conference at Bally's in Atlantic City, Sept. 6,7, &8.

Let's keep the love going by keeping in touch!

And another DFA group centers on health care.

Record Turnout for First NJ "Health Care for America" Forum

Panelists (l-r) Dr. Robert Goldstone, Bob Gulack, Jeanne Otersen

The meeting began promptly at 6:30pm, for the screening of the nearly 2-hour film. The Health Care Forum began at about 8:30 and concluded shortly before 10. Attendees were enthusiastic in their response to the forum, and stayed well beyond the usual ending time.

Lewis Miller, a co-founder of Bergen Grassroots and currently a member of the executive board of New Jersey for Democracy, announced a plan for a follow-up visit with Congressman Steve Rothman, who represents the Ninth Congressional District that includes the southern half of Bergen. Several in attendance signed up to accompany Mr. Miller to the congressman’s office. The visit will take place sometime in August, while Rothman is home from Washington, DC.

Paul Eisenman is a co-founder and the current chairman of Bergen Grassroots, the DFA group in Bergen County, New Jersey.

Kudos to them.

1. Jeebus. Al these names.
Reads like the guest list at Anne and John Wolfe's annual Christmas party. ;-)

2. Way to go. Our DFA chapter is suffering from success.
It's hard to be grassroots when your leaders win positions with the state party.

Change For Kentucky, see our link below.

3. Yeh, but that is sort of the goal, though
We had that going here, but not ready in this area right now.

I have always been impressed with Change for Kentucky.

4. They were the core of the Dean campaign in 2004. I was one of the
early members of Kerry Wins Kentucky. We got absorbed into the Fayette County Party. We used our Kerry list of 2,000 volunteers to help down ticket races. We knew Kerry wouldn't win Kentucky, but we knew we could have some impact on state races. We not only held our own, we picked up a seat in the legislature. State and national organizations snapped up our leadership, just like what's happening with Change For Kentucky.

We worked locally in 2006, helping to put DFA progressives in the city council. this year we will work for down ticket races, instead of the governor's race.

Here's who we like:

and
Crit Luellen She doesn't have a site yet.

6. That's why we are going down ticket again. The party is in control of
the governor's race. They have sent professionals to run the campaign. Fletcher is polling in the upper 30's. Beshear has a comfortable lead, but we know we will have to win big to overcome caging and other republican dirty tricks.
