I think that he was trying to clarify the terms to his ignorant surface-dwelling audience.

Last night Larry had a redneck woman chef as his guest. He asked her what was the most exotic dish she had ever come across. One would think that she would mention some dish from Africa/Asia/Arctic/Antarctic/MiddleEast/SouthAmerica/Caribbean/Australia. Something from far away. Guess what she said? "My grandmother used to cook rabbits and squirrels for breakfast". Larry's response was classic. He said, "That is what you consider exotic?". Larry just clarified to his audience that he had a redneck on the show. The woman did not even know it.

Sorry people, I had to use the word "redneck". It is bigoted. I apologize.
