Right Wing Zealots Cheer For Mass Murder In The US.
Again, I should add. A little LIHOP, a little draft, some martial law and we get to invade Iran.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/016480.php

The Philadelphia Daily News' Stu Bykofsky, one of the city's most widely-read columnists, caused a bit of a stir with his latest column, which posited a provocative idea: another 9/11-style attack to "help" America. As Bykofsky sees it, "we have forgotten who the enemy is," and the murder of thousands of Americans would help us get back on track.

America's fabric is pulling apart like a cheap sweater. What would sew us back together? Another 9/11 attack.

The Golden Gate Bridge. Mount Rushmore. Chicago's Wrigley Field. The Philadelphia subway system. The U.S. is a target-rich environment for al Qaeda. <...>

Is there any doubt they are planning to hit us again? If it is to be, then let it be. It will take another attack on the homeland to quell the chattering of chipmunks and to restore America's righteous rage and singular purpose to prevail.

Drudge, Mike Gallagher and John Gibson are cheering this plan on, and I'm sure other will lend their giant corporate-financed megaphones to the chorus.

2. As I wrote yesterday...
he is a 4th rate columnist with 3rd rate gossipy-info. He's a major asshole and regarded as such here by his readers. He took over for a 3rd rater named Larry Fields, who, BTW, I once saw drink an entire fifth of booze in less than 2 hours.

Stu's a joke.

8. the term 'joke'
is not used in a humorous fashion here - rather, it means that he himself is not taken seriously by anyone here in Philly worth a damn, even the RWers, who think he's a total asshole b/c of his other, more 'progressive', views . He's a really peculiar guy.

what he said is not a joke by any means.

12. Typical that RW wurlitzers like Drudge or Beck or Hannity would pick him up.
What I don't get is with all the money backing the RW extremists why they can't get a better brand of wurlitzer. Even their high-end organs like Brian Williams and Charlie Rose can't make it beyond smarmy. Why are they all so fundamentally tacky, and why can't they even fake not being so?

Is it just to zetz us? "Not only do we run you but we run you with these losers?"

Or is it just that better brands can't be bought and this is what they have to make do with?

very good organs as in many of the old theater palaces....though with the advent of synthesizers, in the end their name became synonymous with tacky....while Aeolian skinner made the Stradivarius of organs, as in many of the great cathedrals....so I guess Olbermann is the Aeolian Skinner kind of organ....sorry that old stuff is just too fun to pass up....Whirtzler (Wurlitzer) is an inside joke

7. Oh, those magical days following 9/11.
When RW zealots could finally let loose of all of the hate-filled revenge fantasies bottled up in their dark hearts. Instead of the dismissiveness and ridicule they usually receive, their ideas were warmly embraced by many who heard them. Good times for them.

The boys only allow dissent they feel is no threat or will give them some advantage.

Some years ago I was dating this young lady who had a radio show. Most of her repertoire was alternative material and she had a decent audience among the local college crowd.
She was planning to move to Maine to be with me so we decided to do an experimental show featuring Native American, reggae, Union songs and similar material. None of it could be considered extreme by any means, although we played the Internationale as a lead-in piece.Within a couple of days she had been fired and was told in no uncertain terms that the 'Authorities' were not pleased with her show. Since she was leaving anyway, it didn't matter much but it did illustrate the point that there really isn't such a thing as 'Free Speech' in this country.

16. Is there any doubt what would happen if a leftist wrote this, not that one would...
Why isn't this treated as an act of terrorism?

Of course, Ann Coulter can get away with suggesting we poison our Supreme Court Justices and nothing happens to her. I guess the Right Wing can say any fucking thing.

Why do their perverted fantasies usually include Chicago and San Francisco? I think they really resent the fact that America's best cities are decidedly blue.

If at first you don't succeed, just add more force.

They're insane.

Long before the attack on 9/11 I knew George Bush was a fascist. Another "9/11" won't change who George Bush is.

So now it's not the news. And now they're discussion of politics tunnels under to include things like personality and belief. There aren't enough 9/11 attacks in our future to make me alter my embrace of the Constitution. These people willfully wish to abandon everything we fought for in World War 2 and beyond, in order to bring the country together. If I saw Gibson walking down the street, I would move to the other sidewalk to avoid him. And his like. Which appears to be a fair percentage of this country now.

We're not divided. One half of the citizens in this country have decided to abandon common sense. Until they return to their senses, no number of attacks will change that division. I'm not running to embrace Gibson. Not until he starts acting like a human being.

At the sake of sounding tit for tat, I would argue that these people are projecting again. They are the ones who would do the changing in the event of another attack. Not us.

22. It is not enough to promote liberalism.
It is necessary to destroy conservatism.

This country will never know peace when an ideology exists which maintains that mass-murder is the only thing which can "bring us together".

The Reichstag fire created the Nazis. We have to stop them now, every other consideration is secondary.
