Why I think the FISA thing in Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid's fault |
|
I'm listening to the archives of John Rothman on KGO and he is pissing me off - apologist for the Dems in Congress.
This is the way I understand the original "problem" with FISA is that if we were warrantlessly spying on two foreigners on foreign soil but the communication was going through US communications it was illegal. So the correction to FISA should have been you can spy on suspected foreign terrorists on foreign soil even if going through US communications without a warrant PERIOD
I think that was the Dem version of the bill. What we got was the repunk version which doesn't even state suspected terrorist so I guess they can spy on anyone the effing feel like...
So why didn't Harry and Nancy only let the first version up for a vote? When the repunks were in control of Congress didn't they limit or exclude Dem amendments and legislation? Really all the apologist for Nancy, Harry and Stenny saying well they voted against it - but couldn't control the blue dogs - BUT THEY CONTROL the agenda and what comes to a vote.
The Dems might not have the votes to over ride a veto but they sure as hell CAN control the agenda...
Good lord I feel so hopeless.....

2. It is totally their fault, they shouldn't even have let it come to a vote |
|
If Pelosi and Reid would have just not let the bill come to the floor for a vote then it wouldn't have passed. The Blue Dogs could have came out and said they supported it. Pelosi and Reid would have taken some heat, but their seats are safe.
