Some Yahoo On CNN Says We're Winning The War On The Ground
I didn't even bother to look and see who the idiot is. He said, with certainty, that its the damedest thing, 'we are winning all the battles, have been since the day the first boot set on the ground. We are winning the war on the ground but losing the war'. I use single quotes when I paraphrase.

Let me point something out. If we are winning the war on the ground but losing the war then what is it that is beating us, their fucking navy? Iraq's Air Force perhaps?

Fucking idiot.

All you have to do is pay the slightest bit of attention to the things they say, the words they use. Its simply amazing the blather that passes for news today.

What they said about Vietnam, from what I've read about it: 'won every battle, lost the war'.

3. Why should anyone believe
anything that these people say? Suddenly, now they have credibility? Hah!

Doesn't matter if we're winning or losing. The bottom line is, we're staying.

4. The troops do win the battles, each battle, Then they give up the battle territory
and its gone. Sometimes they go back to do it over. But each battle (take the hill or whatever the term is)----they do win.

6. "The War" automatically means Iraq, right?
Firstly, there is no War. There is a US Occupation. Secondly, there is a Conflict in Afghanistan that some also refer to as a War. No War has been declared by Congress. Busholini cannot legally declare any special powers of the War Powers Act, although he repeatedly claims such.

7. I wrote back in January/February

to be on the look out for the msm media to begin using the white house spin that the surge was working. Well, it seems the white house is going on a pr blitz with help from its conservative allies to build public support not only to convince the surge is working but to do one more thing and that is to, BUILD PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR A LONG TERM OCCUPATION OF IRAQ!
What is amazing, well no its not because this same msm bought the spill for going into iraq in 02 or now buying into this pr campaign the surge is working. this began about 2 weeks ago. When the troops deaths were reported at 74 and all the msm were reporting the deaths in iraq are lower then the previous month and for the next two days the troops deaths were not reported and we ended up with a total of 81 for July....What I believe is going on is a push by the white house to give just enough to convince the none nuts democrats and repugs and the public that just enough has been made with the surge to justify us staying....Hell, even the top general has said the u s will be there 9 to 10 years, "if we want to win"...DAMN! When did winning become a part of this attack?
So, I suggest whenever you get a chance to write, call your congress folk and tell them not to buy into this pr campaign because we are not winning jack in iraq or as rep jane schakowsky said on her recent return from iraq this week, " I BELIEVE OVERALL THE SURGE IS A FAILURE.WHY'S THAT? BECAUSE THE PURPOSE WAS TO REDUCE VIOLENCE TO CREATE A SAFER ENVIROMENT, TO CREATE A SPACE FOR POLITICAL RECONCILATION. AND IRAQ IS FAR FROM THAT AS IT'S EVER BEEN....IT'S CLEAR TO ME WE CANNOT WIN SOMEONE ELSE'S RELIGIOUS CIVIL WAR".
ps: And what other way to show the decrease in troop deaths? Have the military ot report them in a timely manner....
I do thank you
Ben David

8. Dems are mostly on board for the "Long War".
Iraq will be Occupied by the US for decades. The Troop numbers may vary and shift locations but there will be Troops & Mercs in Iraq no matter who wins the '08 Election. The Dems in Congress are playing a mind game with America. They may not garner a majority in the Senate or win the Presidency.
