Boca Raton man who beat up two Hatians required to learn about tolerance as part of plea deal
Edited on Sat Aug-11-07 11:48 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
Mark Tessmer, a Boca Raton man, must watch a documentary about intolerance in America, study Haitian heritage and write two essays about the human race and the contributions of Haitians as a part of a plea agreement reached Friday on charges that he punched two men and shouted epithets at Publix parking lot. Mark Tessmer, 45, pleaded guilty in his best interest to two counts of battery reclassified with evidencing prejudice and was also sentenced to two years of probation. Boca Raton police arrested Tessmer in May after he punched a customer and a Publix employee in the parking lot of the store on Federal Highway after asking them if they were Haitian, according to court documents.

1. I'd LOVE to read his essays. Really.
I wonder just where this guy's head was at when bashing someone, anyone, else (but he went for two people). Nothing ever gets accomplished by pummeling someone else. Ever.
Moron of the day/week?

And the 'punishment' sucks. Bigotry is alive and well, very sadly. People never learn about tolerance from a documentary. And 'study Haitian heritage'? That's a part of his punishment? Gimme a break, really.

3. A good caning would probably be more appropriate.
If the point of a punishment is to get a message across to him, I mean.
