romney: "I want to clean up the moral pollution on TV & the Internet'
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/marc-cooper/direct-from-ames-the-gop_b_60074.html

Unless, that is, you count all eight participating candidates having endorsed some version or another of an even more regressive tax policy than that of George W. Bush. Maverick and semi-crank candidate Ron Paul wants a withdrawal from Iraq. But otherwise the entire pack of candidates agreed they are pro-life, anti-Roe V. Wade, pro-gun, pro-privatization of some portion or another of social security, in favor of building a wall across the Mexican border, and had nothing very different to say about Iraq than would any current sitting White House official.

Indeed, Romney, who spent some $2 million to sew up today's poll, stood out at the most "continuist" of all the candidates. He lauded President Bush for "keeping us safe for the last six years" and celebrated the administration's controversial interrogation methods of terror suspects. OK, l et's give Romney credit for one fresh idea: "I want to clean up the moral pollution on TV and the Internet," he thundered to the crowd at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames. "I want to enforce our obscenity laws... One strike and you're ours."

........Uh oh...back to the Sears catalog bra section....

I just LOVE the part about how romney praised bush for keeping us safe for 6 years!

24. Since cable TV and the internet are a choice
and Fox is the channel of choice of republicans, do you think he wants to censure republicans. Cause they are the ones all over the news with perverted sex, with children, other mens wives and prostitutes.

more likely to be struck by lightning or go through a Katrina style disaster than be harmed by a terrorist.

the right of the orthodox 'believers' of his Church to, and let's be honest about this, fuck as many women as they want to within the confines of multiple 'marriages'. Sounds like 'harems' to me - but what do I know?

The porno movie-makers, to my 'limited' knowledge, haven't gotten a hold of this concept yet, but I can see it 'coming' from here.

Can you just imagine what must go one within these polygamous homes? No? Don't worry...it's even wilder than you think.

On edit: See those 5 big, handsome, strapping sons of his? I bet there's been a visit or two to fu-d.com (YEAH, BABY!) or one of those sites...maybe even two or three...

Who knew?

It's sad when the state of American affairs is best summed up by a god-damn Kim Jon Il puppet from a puppet movie made by the makers of South Park: "Why does everybody have to be so fucking stupid?"

Jesus what a fucked-up country...

16. Brought to us everyday by corporate values
Edited on Sun Aug-12-07 06:57 AM by lostnfound
Sleaze and gore is what they serve up everyday. But it is unAmerican to blame the problem on the producers rather 'the people' -- they are only 'giving consumers what they want', you know.

Not saying whether it should or shouldn't be 'cleaned up' but the morality police on the right never make the connection of what values are actually driving it. It isn't sex that is the root of all evil; it's greed.

20. Really. Bill O'Reilly has alluded that there are some things one just can't control.
Edited on Sun Aug-12-07 07:28 AM by HypnoToad
And has done specials on the crudeness of morality on our children... which is ironic as the company that hires him happens to be a big offender of said category.

I agree, the media DOES go too far. Way too far at times. But given 'free market', 'privatization', and other influences, he won't succeed. It's impossible. Incompatible viewpoints, rather like "family values" combined with "corporate values" - families aren't doing too good right now but I digress...

Edit: Typo, misplaced word ('incompatible' for 'incontrovertible' :blush: ).
Edit 2: Public acknowledgment of the first edit.

32. What moral pollution? You say 'fuck', it gets beeped out. You flash a nipple, it's get blurred out..
They aired the American tv-program 'Beauty and the geek' in The Netherlands and in one episode, the geeks had to draw a naked woman. They showed their drawings to the camera and the drawn tits were blurred! I kid you not! They made sure we couldn't see the tits the geeks had drawn!! And a totally 'accepted' word like "fuck" is beeped out on American tv, right? Then what's this moral pollution?

An American actress or singer (don't remember) came on Dutch tv years ago and she accidentally said "fuck" and then started apologizing, she panicked and she asked if they could beep it out. The host then told her bot to worry: "You can say that on Dutch tv. Fuck! There, I said it: fuck. You try it: say fuck." And then she was having a blast exclaiming one "fuck" after another. She went crazy. :rofl:

He can refrain from using the internet also.

He does not, however, get to tell me what is appropriate for me to read, watch, or say.

37. Mitt Romney linked to Bush family;

Mitt Romney linked to Bush family;

Mitt Romney linked to Bush family; Jeb Bush encouraged to run for president
From our "will we never learn/will the nightmare never end" department comes this:
Jeb Bush, who hasn't publicly picked a favorite in the Republican presidential race, privately is talking up the candidacy of Mitt Romney and steering some of his closest advisers to the campaign.

The former Florida governor has said repeatedly he won't be a candidate in 2008 despite encouragement from his father, the former president, and his brother, the current one. But Jeb Bush's support, even tacit, would be critical in the state that decided the 2000 presidential election.

is one of several former Bush confidantes in the Romney camp. Others include his hand-picked, former state party chairman Al Cardenas, and Sally Bradshaw, 's former campaign manager and chief of staff...

http://www.lonewacko.com/blog/archives/006329.html

Mitt-twit is ideal for the Bush Crime Family. They can control him like putty in their hands. After one term Jeb could challenge him for the Pres. spot.
