I replied to a post with this statement, but I felt |
|
that there are alot more Christians out there that actually DO yes I said DO follow the teachings and it did surprise me I was wondering if anyone else knows of a True Christian that actually follows the teaching?
I have been Pagan and gay all my life, and my parents didn't know, when I was 31 (35 now) my parents finally put it together since all I had was male roommates with one bedroom ummm HELLO!!!! lol....My mom and dad, Gods rest his soul who just passed this year, are christians and were Republican voters and surprisingly enough my mom and dad at the time both told me that "Son no matter what faith you follow or how you live your lifestyle is up to you and not for me to judge, we are your parents in this life and we are to help you grow and find yourself and it is not up to us to stand in your way. We believe that you should and must have faith in something and if the Baptist faith that we grew up on didn't fit with you or wasn't your calling then that's fine I just wish you all the love your faith has to offer you and you find peace within it."
And during the last moments I saw my dad in the hospital before he passed he looked at me and said "You have made me proud son through all you have done and no matter what any family member says about you and your choices has no bearing on my love for you, God says he gave us all free will and to say that controls the market in faith and that he is the Only God in all of the universe is pretty arrogant."
And yet to this day being a Pagan priest and a gay man my mom never preaches to me or shoves her belief down my throat at all cause she said "As a christian we are supposed to respect others decisions and not judge them unless I be judged by the same rod and I'm no god to judge you I'm a mom that is still here to take care of you and be here for you." NOW THAT'S A CHRISTIAN.

As for me, I do my best. I always tell my kids that there is a difference betwen Faith and Religon, and if it comes down to a choice, choose Faith.

And a few of them are priests. They actually bring charity to the poor without shoving their faith down their throats. Their cloth is enough of a message of God's love when they serve them food or hand them a new scarf or coat when it's cold. Your mother and father are a blessing. Thank GOD for your Mother. She is a true inspiration. Duckie

that's after Jimmy Carter somebody already posted that. I should add that bush is the poorest excuse for a christian (little c intended) that I have ever seen. Little c cause the type of christian behavior practices isn't real.

I know of a true Christian, too. His name is Ken, and he's my brother's father in law. When he was young, he was a sailor, and had an alcohol problem. He found his path, gave up drinking, and became a lay minister. He would go to small churches who had lost their pastors and be their pastor (without charge) until they found another. But more than that--he raised three girls. They didn't follow the commandments of their church, but he never lectured them about it. He welcomed each boyfriend with joy and love, and was supportive with whatever they chose to do. He even welcomed me into his life, accepting me for what I am. He's always been generous in helping others less fortunate, even opening up his home to others who needed a place to stay.
