|
What the hell is c-span doing?? The guy, Humberto Fontova, was glowingly introduced by Ileana Ross-Lehtinen :puke:
The book?
"Exposing the Real Ché Guevara, and the Useful Idiots Who Idolize Him".. Do people really still "idolize" Ché?

1. BookTv has extremely freeperish moments where they blast |
|
bullshit.
This is one of those moments.

2. Here's a thread you might want to check out: |
|
the author never did elaborate how he knows of these connnections, and I'm not sure how to go about finding out, but it could explain a lot. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=1566628

5. And People Don't Think C-SPAN Has Bias??? |
|
A couple weeks ago, they reran a hit job on Michael Moore...not only wasn't the movie in general release, the interview they aired was also 2 years old. No rebuttal time or even a simple sit-down with Mr. Moore. I'm sure he'd be happy to participate...what say you Mr. Lamb?
I refuse to watch the Book-TV propaganda because it's become so loaded with right wing propagandists while there are precious few Progressives ever featured...and when they are, they're usually "interviewed" by some sceptical corporate media-type who can't wait to trap them into some talking points pyschobabble.

6. If you're selective, you can watch some interesting segments, though. |
|
Imho, this is a baby/bathwater situation. That's why Viva's Friday night thread is so great - you can plan what to watch ahead of time. :)

7. The Operative Word: Selective |
|
I wish they'd still post the daily C-SPAN listings, and I appreciate Viva's Book-TV posts. Most people who watch C-SPAN are political junkies and cherry pick what they watch...just look how crazy this place gets when there's a Judiciary committee hearing.
I don't care that C-SPAN biases right, I just think people should be aware this isn't the altruistic operation they think it is.
Cheers...

8. I agree. They host fake authors with fake books that are straight |
|
propaganda all the time. And panels from those fake "think tanks" whose only purpose is to disguise corporate profit taking as foreign policy.
There is sometimes the added amusement of hearing freepers chewing Brian Lamb out for being too liberal. lol
