1. Tiger was making me very nervous
Woody & Ernie made a spectacular run at it. I was rooting for Tiger though...I think everyone wants to see him break Jack's record. :D

I came home and watched on TV. Nice and cool. :-)

6. Tiger Woods has got to be the most phenomenal athlete of all time.

He's not just pretty good or pretty lucky he's the best thing to ever happen to the game of golf.

11. With a two way tie for second
they combine 2nd and 3rd place money and split it.

10. Woods was amazing this weekend. Els was on FIRE most of today, but he
Edited on Sun Aug-12-07 07:40 PM by Mayberry Machiavelli
just had too much ground to make up. If he'd been PERFECT and shot a 63 like Tiger the other day, he could have forced a playoff, but he missed one or two putts and that was that.

Pretty incredible to see the best in the world at something performing at their peak, doing their thing.

A worthy challenge from Woody Austin and Els, but too little too late. I didn't know that Austin used to be a bank teller. Cool.

Also (on edit) Ames folded faster than Superman on laundry day, sheesh! Two hooked drives right out of the gate and that was all she wrote.

13. I knew that Scott Verplank would wilt--and not just from the heat.
There was a commercial for a Tiger Woods video game where his partner is about the shoot and starts trembling as if his club where a jackhammer. It didn't run for very long--I suspect that the PGA asked Tiger to put a stop to it!

17. We all figured Ames would wilt but a string of early boogeys....My hero Ells did all he could muster
but had to settle for a ties 2nd...not bad top ten finish...his last was sveral years ago...

Woody had his ops but lost it all when his short putts failed.....

Tiger won by TWO strokes, and when HE'S on fire, that's WAY too much ground to make up! On any OTHER given Sunday, Els probably would have won.

12. So, is it over? Will all these people go home now?
So I can drive to work and arrive on time without having to deal with all the out-of-state PGA fans clogging my route? :)

15. Had the same problem when Tiger played in New Jersey last year
There were actually signs along Route 78 warning that there would be delays due to the tournament there!

14. How about that 62-1/2 on Saturday.
That 62nd shot was halfway in the hole, ringed the cup 270 degrees, then robbed him of the PGA record for lowest score in a tournament round. Damn!

had Tiger's personality! Even on the rare times when he gets mad at himself, he's a nice guy.

Then when it appeared victory was in hand....the Tiger smile emerged.

21. I admit, I'm not a golfer and never watch the game except for the
final few minutes when it pre-empts 60 Minutes, but I've always been able to catch the Tiger win in those few minutes. He's a GREAT GOLFER bit he's also a really good man.
