A mother and her boyfriend have been found guilty of murdering her 4 year old daughter, Leticia Wright and both were jailed for life by a jury in a horrific case which disgusted a nation.

Leticia was found to have more than 100 injuries from her scalp to her toe when she died in November last year. The court heard how the pleasures enjoyed by most children were denied to her by her abusive mother and drug-user boyfriend.

She was not allowed to play outside with other children, was kept out of nursery school, shut in her empty bedroom and hardly had any toys.

One of the neighbours who called in the authorities slammed social services for not taking local concerns seriously enough, the Daily Mail reported.
