1. Well, yeah, think of all the money he made the stockholders...
...by closing American factories and outsourcing to China.

Despite a $1 yearly salary, Apple chief executive Steve Jobs still managed to top Forbes' list of highest paid CEOs for 2006, raking in more than $646 million through stock-based compensation -- more than twice that of the next highest paid boss.

iPod maker admits breaking Chinese labor laws; says Apple approved sweatshop labor
http://macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/9988

"Apple Computer is getting into a deep PR mess over the antics of one of its Chinese partners," Nick Farrell reports for The Inquirer.

"After denying that it was running a sweatshop that would be familiar to Charles Dickens, Apple's Ipod manufacturer, Foxconn has finally admitted that it broken Chinese labour laws," Farrell reports.

5. That's what counts to corporations.
That's why we need regulatory agencies to protect us from them.

6. I will say this...
..its been a blessing in disguise for us and our little one. The Grandparents were forever dragging her to Sprawlmart to buy all of this cheap chinese plastic crap. The toys are junk, last a week and generally disappoint. I told them I would rather she focus on learning how to "use" one or two learning games than a pile of shit in the closet.
I put my foot down at least four times, even told them to put the money in a piggy bank instead. Now that they have learned of these poison toys, they seem to have come around.
A little.

7. His Chinese counterpart killed himself
When the scandal over the lead paint hit the news.

While I'm not advocating suicide, it seems unfair for this mercenary bastard to get off free with his millions. A small donation - say 90% of his salary to children's medical care - seems appropriate. That would still leave him with way more than his average employee ever gets.

8. We just had our local fair - what was in those prizes?
I can't imagine what people were carrying around in those "prizes". What kind of vile stuffing did they use and what's going to crawl out of it in the middle of the night.

Was I the only one that even thought there might be a problem with those cheap stuffed prizes?

12. And the killer part is - he'll still get his bonus this year
I don't understand how CEO's can drive companies into the ground, all the while being lavished with stock options and bonuses. Then, when they leave, a giant golden parachute.

What, exactly is their motivation to do the right thing?
