John Gibson 'worst person' for mocking Jon Stewart after 9/11

You could see and feel his pain. And he topped his opening off by cuddling his puppy.

That was so heartbreaking.

John Gibson is scum. And Keith all but called him that.

I don't remember when we started watching The Daily Show but it was after 9/11. I didn't think I could be more impressed with Jon but I am.

How could anyone forget what it was like in those days and weeks and months after 9/11 to the point that he could make fun of someone's emotional reaction? I was a basket case and all I saw of it was on television and in the paper from a few thousand miles away. I remember reading the obituaries of people who died before it happened and thinking how lucky they were that they didn't live to know about it. Watching this video immediately brought back those feelings of incredible shock, sympathy, and grief.

23. This whole John Gibson mess would be hilarious if it weren't for one detail

and that is, John Gibson was a guest on the Daily Show once (that I recall, it may have been more than once) and while he was there, Jon Stewart treated him very well and with much more respect than Gibson deserved.

So what does Gibson do?

Well, like a typical rethug, he takes a cheap shot below the belt. One thing The Daily Show has never done (not that I have seen, at least) is make fun of people when they are vulnerable or weak. Can you imagine the outrage if, either right after 9/11 or even now, Jon Stewart started showing how people responded to 9/11 and made fun of them? There would be outrage.

Of course, I do take comfort in the fact that there is very little outrage over Gibson's comments because he is a nobody, even regular Fox News viewers may not know who he is!

And I gotta admit, it is great to see an example of Conservatives how they really are:

Not only do they mock people for their reactions to a catastrophic terror attack just miles from where they live, they fucking insist that an attack like that needs to happen again!

24. Two things:

1) Someone should gather up evidence from all the RW writers and on-air personalities and callers who keep saying we need another 9/11 and make a video to be shown during the 2008 campaign.

2) When Jon Stewart said, "Any fool cn blow stuff up. Any fool can destroy," I immdiately thought of Bush, Cheney and neocon cabal that view Iraq as an empty lot for them to play with their bottle rockets.
