Iranian Military Unit to Be Labeled 'Terrorist'
Edited on Tue Aug-14-07 10:50 PM by file83
source: The Washington Post

The United States has decided to designate Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, the country's 125,000-strong elite military branch, as a "specially designated global terrorist," according to U.S. officials, a move that allows Washington to target the group's business operations and finances.

The Bush administration has chosen to move against the Revolutionary Guard Corps because of what U.S. officials have described as its growing involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as its support for extremists throughout the Middle East, the sources said.

But wait, there's more...

The decision follows congressional pressure on the administration to toughen its stance against Tehran, as well as U.S. frustration with the ineffectiveness of U.N. resolutions against Iran's nuclear program, officials said.

First of all, where is this "congressional pressure" coming from? Last time I checked, these representatives were supposed to be impeaching this motherfucker, not egging him on to go to war!

It's not like people are protesting and writing their congressional reps to "pressure the administration to toughen its stance against Tehran"!! The opposite is the case.

Not to mention, that sure sounds a lot like (exactly like) Bush's excuse to go to war with Iraq back in 2003.

Here we go again.

Am I hallucinating this nightmarish disconnect between the will of the American people and their representatives, or am I just having a flashback to 2003?

1. I think this could be considered an Act of War
Bush and warmongers are rateching up the pressure. They need this war soon, but will either have to force Iran in agression or stage something to get their war.

2. Oh Hell Yeah!
We can get the Edwards/Clinton supported IWR out and only have to change Iraq to Iran in it. Save enough time to get two haircuts and a facelift!
