When allergies attack..... |
Edited on Tue Aug-14-07 10:50 PM by marmar
It's been at least 3 years since allergies have bothered me, but they've attacked with a venegeance the last couple of days. The long, warm, extremely dry summer here in southeast Michigan certainly isn't helping.....Anybody else suffering in allergy hell right now?

1. In Florida, all year, every year. But sometimes it is not so bad and others |
it is horrible. Sudafed works (not the replacement stuff, that burns my tummy, the real stuff!)

3. I'm here in the 7th ring. |
I have them especially bad today in the Pacific NW, but the flare-up started yesterday. I feel like I'm being dragged behind a truck in Bible bootcamp. It's absolutely miserable and I empathize with all you other allergy sufferers. I never had them until about 10 years ago--at least not to where I'd notice.

8. There are very few painkillers I can take |
Due to medications I take.I take tylenol only when it gets tormenting and makes it impossible to sleep when I have to get up early the next day. If I don't gotta get up. I just deal with it sit up inhaling steam and hitting the neti pot...I take maybe 30 tylenol a year total.
I know to be cautious with pain medications,I have gotten an education over the years trust me.. do sometimes take heavy duty painkillers for my back, those I have to go to my doctor for,and she injects it and gives me another set of syringes (pain meds and anti nausea meds to counteract the nausea the pain meds cause) to take home for the next day.Than in a few days the pain meds fade I am ok again.Degenerative disc disease sux. I am scared to death of it getting worse,I don't EVER want to get hooked on oxycontin or morphine. I have had morphine twice in the ER for my back I hated it,it felt miserable, but at least it stopped the pain. So I know how to cope with pain.Every time you take a drug it effects the body tylenol fucks with your liver. There are herbal stuff that can help mitigate damage.Milk thistle helps the liver function.

6. Springtime was awful for me |
The post nasal gunk was preventing me from getting much sleep. Then my doctor prescribed Astelin and it worked like a charm.

7. I have a sinus infection right now |
Missed two days of work from the pain... pain so bad I thought for sure it was a tooth (or ALL my teeth!) that was the problem. Turns out it's the worst allergy related sinus infection I've ever endured. This whole season has been one long allergy hell for me, and I don't normally have allergy problems except in the fall. Something whack is going on this season, and I've heard LOTS of other people saying their allergies have been over-the-top this year, too.
