Is it going to take a recession for the 26% to wake up?
Recession after the first Bush, recession after the second Bush...

A never ending, impossible war that is killing 2.6 American soldiers a day and 100 Iraqis a day.

A Constitution torn to shreds. Warrantless wire tapping, condoning of torture, Guantanamo Bay, signing statements, a stacked Supreme Court one heart attack away from overturning Roe v. Wade and allowing gays to be second class citizens.

A complicit media, fake, government sponsored news stories, three propaganda networks.

An attempt to destroy the Internet, what with its ability to disseminate the truth to the masses with little cost.

Billions of dollars going to enormous corporations, billions of dollars being stolen from the masses.

Over 1000 American citizens dead because 1) The government didn't build levees to protect them 2) The government took over a week to save them 3) The government knows they are poor and black.

Rigged electronic voting machines, disenfranchisement of minority voters, gerrymandered districts, and a stacked Supreme Court.

Global warming about to cause a type of devastation that humanity has never witnessed in all of history, a government that does not care because it is bought by the oil companies.

45 million Americans without any health insurance whatsoever. Millions dying every year because of it. No stem cell research. No hope for a universal health care system.

Bridges falling down. No, really.

Terrorists threatening to attack. Terrorists training and breeding in Iraq. Terrorists gaining strength. Billions of people who are possible recruits.

A growing debt, a record deficit, Chinese toys killing children, Chinese toothpaste killing adults, Chinese pet food killing animals.

And now, a possible recession....

Hey, 26%: WAKE THE HELL UP.

4. I agree ... there will always be some else to blame
I love this saying "Clap louder children." (you know, fairies get wings) and somebody is not clapping.

3. Dude, Some People Want This Government!
Some people want a dictator. Some people want Pinochet, Caucescu, Musolini, He Who's Name Stops All Discussion.

Some people want the "Unitary Executive". And they want that king to be really, really conservative.

These kinds of people can't be reached. Not any more than you can reach a sociopath or pedophile.

Every fascist society has it's members who really dig it.

They can't be reached, and they will sing the praises of shrub until they die. Just like those who still sing the praises of Musolini, Markos, Hoover, Nixon, Reagan...

5. Yep, it's true. And they believe it's alright to kill us and
take our possessions. And if there are any survivors, make them slaves.

7. Probably not really that high.
You figure a margin of error in most polls of about four percent, plus most polls skew towards the center. Add in the number of people who don't know the difference between the president and their senator. Figure some people were yelling at their kids while taking the poll, and had no idea what the question was. Then you've got the people who are afraid the pollster is really working for the government. "Do you approve of the job the president is doing?" "Yes, don't hurt me. I have a family!"

Then there are the people related to or paid by the Bushes--you figure probably some of them would say he was doing a good job.

All in all, I think Bush's numbers are below rock bottom. I get the feeling that even people who think CSPAN is a bridge have learned who Bush is, just so they can say they hate him.

10. How about the other 74%?
We can answer a poll question about the President, but will enough of us get properly pissed to do something?
