Kern County residents asked to stay indoors because of falling ash
Bakserfield, CA
Smoke layers from the Zaca fire have been sitting over Kern County for the past few weeks. The smoke has been so high it's really only been a concern for airplanes until Tuesday morning.
"It's all through here, little white spots. All through here. All ash. Not here last night," said concerned Oildale resident Kat Snow.
Snow woke up to find ash covering her car. And she was just one of many, as the Zaca fire burns away from Santa Barbara County to the northeast, making its way closer to us in Kern.
"We advise everyone to stay in as much as possible. during time when seeing visible ash. previously not seeing ash falling until now."
The health warning applies to everyone, especially those with lung and heart problems.
....Especially since what's being called the second largest fire in state history doesn't seem to be putting itself out anytime soon.
