I have seen this in response on places such as Red State when a video of Cheney was found saying invading Iraq would be a "quagmire." I am willing to bet that you have also heard people on the other side of the aisle say this too.

What I would like to know is how 9/11 changed an invasion of Iraq from a quagmire to a war which people said we would be in for only 6 months tops (Turned out to be totally wrong BTW). Or, was Cheney saying it would be a quagmire be the only time he has been correct regarding the Iraq War?
