This collection of headline topics tells us 'the lid is off' in Iraq. Prepare for the worst.... |
|
Al Maliki tries to call for an emergency summit in Iraq. (Did no one tell him that the parties needed to make up such a summit all have resigned and left his government?)
Suicide Bombers kill 175 and wound 200 in Northern Iraq.
The US decides to label Iran's Revolutionary Guard as 'Terrorists' (Anyone believe this will make it easier to justify attacking Iranian assets which Cheney continues to push?)
Dozens of uniformed gunmen in 17 official vehicles stormed an Oil Ministry compound in Baghdad and abducted a deputy oil minister and three other officials.
Turkish troops remain massed on the border with Northern Iraq, and reports of Turkish incursions inside Iraq continue to come in.
Lt Gen Lute, Bush's duly appointed 'war czar', raises the possibility of bringing back the draft to provide exhausted and broken soldiers with the fresh bodies they need.
Rumors of a Tet like offensive in Iraq persist.
So when Gen Patraeus gives his report in September on the status of the war in Iraq, any kind of 'spinning' that we are 'making progress' will be just that --- 'spinning.'
The lid is off, and things are worse not better ....

1. What are you talking about? This ensures high oil prices! |
|
That's the whole point! Keep Iraqi oil off the market by clusterfucking the entire country! Hell maybe Iran's will follow suit! The Big Oil will reap huge windfall profits, and lead us into a new golden age! Instead of complaining you should be buying Exxon stock! Have a nice day!
