I swear, the talking head on MSNBC just said that. It's supposed to rain here in Texas, for God's sake, but we're surely prepared. :eyes:
Am I supposed to feel better that there are actual bodies who are in the Nat'l Guard to protect me here, instead of being over there?

1. So their flood-control stuff is not in the Iraqi desert? |
|
You know, the way LA's Nat. Guard amphibious vehicles are?

2. I hope Texans have prepared themselves for this |
|
Relying on government to take care of you isn't very smart.

6. Well, that's the point. Why was the Nat'l Guard even mentioned? |
|
I'm thinking DHS/FEMA/wh wants us to feel 'really safe'.

5. There's a depression out there, not Dean, that's supposed to hit |
|
South Texas today. But the National Guard is ready for any eventuality.

7. Maybe * is prepping to take advantage of his newly designated powers..... |
|
Doesn't he have the ability to declare absolute power in the event of any undefined emergency, including a weather disaster? :scared:

And they may be getting a third, if he has to lose the leg.

10. I just called a friend in Corpus Christi and said basically the same |
|
thing! :spray:
She did say the ground there is saturated from all the rain they've had this summer; I'm wondering how the Nat'l Guard will fix that. 'All' of them.

11. If New Orleans is any example, they all better evacuate. |
|
Texas is so flat in places, and if the ground is already saturated, they're going to flood.
