Why is the Chamber of Commerce on CSPAN trying to sell NCLB? |
Right on my teevee....head of the CC urging retention of a law that sucks the funds out of purchasing books and repairing schools so that a test can be taught to which will insure that a group of children drop out and quit trying.

1. Because the Chamber of Concrete |
is a good repuke supporting organization. NCLB is designed to make money for certain corporations, not to educate the children.

2. This article spells it out pretty well.... |
"There's gold in them there tests." http://www.rethinkingschools.org/archive/19_02/test192.shtmlThe CC is completely uninterested in old decaying buildings and providing supplies for students. Their concern is limited to the profits of the testing companies.

3. Wonder if they're mining the data? |
When corporatist surveillance is directed inward, citizens will be cataloged and examined from day number one. This requires testing to understand the inner citizen at the appropriate age levels, and identify those on a 'path to terror'.

4. There are defense contractors in the CoC. NCLB allows unfettered access |
to school children for army recruiters. It's actually the only part of NCLB that was actually funded. :grr:
