1. My sister used to have a Barbie whose head came off, and I would take the Barbie car and
put the head on the Barbie, put her in the car, then push it hard so it would run into a wall, and the head would come flying off. Years later, I finally realized that I invented the "Jayne Mansfield Barbie" without even realizing it.

3. OK, that was really bad.
Even worse is that I'm still laughing at it. Still, shame on you for feeding my macabre side.

5. I wonder if JM was really decapitated. They said she was, then said it was just her wig.
Dismemberment stories are always more interesting.

7. OK, you're my older brother in disguise!
My older brother did the same damned thing to my Barbie. He also stuck her head on his finger and ran around the house singing,
"I ain't got no body."

8. I also put Ken and Barbie in some compromising positions
then later on, Barbie and Midge, then Ken and Ken.

18. By the way, Barbies do not turn a boy gay. Ken dolls do.
You take off his pants and there's nothing there. So you spend the rest of your life trying to make up for that.

19. Fortunately, it only took me a few weeks to realize...
that Barbie was a bimbo, and Ken was worthless.

4. True story
This happened to a member of my family. His daughter was going to look like him and his wife-short and curvy. She became enamoured with Barbie dolls--until she realized her aunt Barbara and Uncle Kenneth didn't look anything like the dolls! She threw them away- and took karate and studied science instead. Got a full scholarship to a major university.

13. Is that the rare My Little Pony Clone Lab (tm)?
I was working in a toy store during their heyday:

Upon seeing how all the Baby Ponies were identical to their mothers (not to mention an absence of stallions), I figured there was a secret playset that they didn't sell in stores...

11. Those dolls are abominable, imho.
Edited on Wed Aug-15-07 01:01 PM by TahitiNut
They'd be far better if anatomically correct.

I mean ... if they can make "Betsy Wetsie"... why not a menstruating Barbie and an ejaculating Ken?

:dunce:

14. They don't even make anatomically correct animal models
Ever go into a "horsey" aisle in a toy store and see the "roan Stallion"?

It isn't.

15. No wonder we raise human beings with such insane attitudes regarding the human body.
We sure are neurotic.
(And I say "we" ... not regarding myself as an observer of humanity as an outsider.)

16. Give me handmade toys
I've made bears and dolls for my grandchildren. I have a friend who makes wooden toys-a great progressive guy named Dave Spencer ( http://www.spencerwoodentoys.com ). I will buy toys from Americans or make them myself.

22. Hell yes!
I make dolls and plushies and stuff too. I want to learn to make simple wooden toys - it's very satisfying to make something with your own hands and skill and then watch your child (or someone else's for that matter) enjoy it.

23. Kids can send Toxic Barbie
back to the manufacturer to get her rehabbed.

Or if your kid can handle it, just put Toxic Barbie in her best outfit and make a metal coffin for her before she goes in the landfill.
