Most Disliked Institution In America: The Republican Party
It may not be a surprise to our readers but a Pew poll finds that the American institution most disliked by voters is the Republican party.

2. Interesting in that the Dems have always had more favorable ratings
than the publicans--despite decades of hate radio and brainwashing that says that liberals are somehow bad.

6. More proof that Rove is not a genius, but a massive failure.
The "cable news" ratings scare me though. Too many people still trust anything the TV tells them.

9. Bookmark this. Because we're going to be treated to a media
blitz about how Latinos are going over to the Republics, how students are disaffected, how Congressional Democrats are splitting their base. So, when they try to steal 2008, we'll be nice and softened up to accept it.

19. Bwahahahahaha!!!! NAMBLA's cringing at your comparison.
They'll be putting out a press release any second disavowing Repuke membership among their rank ranks, though we all know better.

13. Let that one hang about them for a few decades. K/R
Unlike about 28 percent of this country, I don't believe that Republicans should get away with messing up the place and never having to be embarrassed for what they did.

They need to learn shame. Let history teach them this, if reason won't.

21. Dems to lose
Dems have a penchant for self-doubt it seems.

One late night about the end of August 1992 I was driving across northern AZ listening to Jimmy Breslin boldly say "there's no doubt, as soon as it was announced, it'll be Clinton/Gore".
He was right.

This is one of those moments. Look at the numbers on the graph from '92.
It's the dems to lose.

22. They worked hard for that distinction, they deserve it.

I tend to think the GOP will soon change its logo from an elephant to a dinosaur.

Thanks to the BushCo regime, put a fork in them, they're done.

I don't see too many institutions on that list I'm sure NAMBLA and the Tobacco Research Institute America. In the end we are better off when we don't lie.

27. I'll bet they were disliked around the beginning of 2004 as well.
Funny how, like the sun rises in the east, every major election period, the Party of the Rich and Criminal find a way to sneak back, back, back into the public's favor . . . enough to make the election close and steal that fucker right out from under us. Theft aside, what asshat votes FOR war, FOR regression, FOR job offshoring, FOR infrastructure crumbling? WHO?

How is this party, which gives not one CRAP about the middle class, still even the least BIT likeable? Why is it taking SO long for the slightly less than Bewsh-slobbering asshole to figure it out?

Even in 2006, we STILL didn't get a veto-proof majority, even though this is history's WORST president and administration beyond a doubt. Someone still inexplicably LIKES these idiots somewhere.

28. That last line both cracks me up and depresses me at the same time.
"Yet the Democrats continue to give them whatever they want, dreadfully fearful of their great power and popularity."

Um, yeah. What the hell is that about?!
