:blush: ... thanks. The comp is mutual. We did some great digging out of interelated news stories (think - energy bill; haliburton and dresser industries, etc.) I miss those days.

I am just thankful that my path has crossed some really incredible folks paths' (such as yours) that I would never had the chance to cross paths and meet with, were it not for DU.

I can not begin to count the times that I have responded to a post or an article and thought... "dang, I wish Teena were here to pick this apart and add insight." She added depth and information to so much to which she posted... (no emoticon for "missing her").

I was just so frustrated and shocked by 2000, and so beset with a puzzling knowledge that something had gone VERY wrong, all the way back to the first Chimp-Gore debate, which Gore so decisively won that was spun as Chimp crushed the next day, so disconnected from reality easily laundered...

Then, I saw my first Freeped Poll, which I simply had never imagined possible (it seems so simple, in retrospect) an excite.com poll question, which had been put up by midnight and it was 12:03am, had 40000 Freeped votes. I wish I had taken a screeshot.

Here's what it loonked like:

Yes 11 0.01%

This three minutes after the poll had been put up (which even suggests another type of Freeping by employees at Excite.com directly, the 40000 votes way too even to be the result f standard multiple-vote Freeping).

Finally, in late Feb. 2001, I began surfing around looking for information on "Bush Stole the Election". I found Buzzflash, Bartcop, and DU in the same day.

After 2000 I couldn't watch the news, read the paper, npr was sounding weird, I was just getting back into the flow of things in September 01 and we all know about that month. I knew there had to be people who felt the same way I did, that something was going horribly wrong.
I started posting on Yahoo boards, and didn't like it at all, then I stumbled onto Bart, and it was no time at all I was here.

It was like coming home, I'm a reincarnation after the theft in 04 I took advantage of the amnesty to change my name. I don't know where I'd be now if all I had was print and tv/radio to rely on, I think that was the flaw in the twisted logic the reptiles used, they never saw the internet comminity, or realized just how much a force it would be.
