38. Here's what I'd like them to stand up for: The across-the-board right of consenting adults to |
|
do whatever the fuck they want with their own bodies, insofar as it isn't directly harming or endangering anyone else.
That means if a consenting adult wants to smoke a joint in the privacy of his or her own home, if a consenting adult is terminally ill and wants a pain-free exit of his or her own choosing, if a consenting adult wants to use birth control, if a consenting adult woman wants to exercise choice over her own reproductive system... or if a consenting adult wants to have sex with another consenting adult of the same or different gender, and the consenting adults want to take pictures of said sex so that they can sell em to another consenting adult who wants to masturbate while looking at em...
The Candidate who comes out and says ENOUGH with this busybody crap of wasting everyone's tax dollars going after consensual adult activities... will have my vote for LIFE.

36. I'm a 6. However I think some of the questions were either loaded or not specific |
|
enough.
For example: The federal government is too big... yes or no. Well that DEPENDS! We don't need the Department of Homeland Security or the Faith Based whats-it. BUT we do need a whole BIG health care system like medicare to take care of everybody.
Talk radio shows should be regulated to ensure both sides of a debate are represented, because talk radio has an unhealthy impact on the political process...yes or no. Well, that DEPENDS TOO! If we stop the trusts, the monopolies, that are consolidating ownership, then no. Leave it alone. It's freedom of speech. But if only 3 or 4 large corporations own all the media in a city, then yes, maybe they should be regulated.
Deceptive political campaign commercials should be banned...yes or no. On the face of it, one would say HELL YES. Given our experience with the swift-boaters with lots of $ to spend. But in political campaigns, a candidate should be able to say whatever that candidate wants to say. That is the DEMOCRATIC foundation of our society. Misleading or not, let the voter decide.
And finally, U.S. interests are more seriously at stake in Haiti than they are in Korea...agree disagree. I firmly believe that things that happen in the Americas are just as important as the Korean problem. All MUST be dealt with. Cuba should be dealt with. Ecuador. Israel. Uzbekistan. Mexico. India. Canada. I could go on...But to put a priority on it? Each country has individual needs and concerns.
So, I'm a 6. I don't think the quiz was that well thought out.

As that test and scale are from the 1990s, I think that Hillary would likely have moved to the right in that time. I think being to the right of Kennedy and to the left of the 1990s Hillary, is about right for a Kerrycrat! That may be where Obama is now.

I have a feeling that hating trial lawyers is a right-wing thingy, that being the point of the question, but I'm just guessing.
Still, a 6 puts me closest to Ted Kennedy, which I don't mind one bit, given the choices.
