"Clergy Response Team" to Help With Martial Law
As reported by Shreveport LA's KSLA;

Homeland Security Enlists Clergy to Quell Public Unrest if Martial Law Ever Declared

August 15, 2007

Could martial law ever become a reality in America? Some fear any nuclear, biological or chemical attack on U.S. soil might trigger just that. KSLA News 12 has discovered that the clergy would help the government with potentially their biggest problem: Us.

...

If martial law were enacted here at home, like depicted in the movie "The Siege", easing public fears and quelling dissent would be critical. And that's exactly what the 'Clergy Response Team' helped accomplish in the wake of Katrina.

Dr. Durell Tuberville serves as chaplain for the Shreveport Fire Department and the Caddo Sheriff's Office. Tuberville said of the clergy team's mission, "the primary thing that we say to anybody is, 'let's cooperate and get this thing over with and then we'll settle the differences once the crisis is over.'"

...

For the clergy team, one of the biggest tools that they will have in helping calm the public down or to obey the law is the bible itself, specifically Romans 13. Dr. Tuberville elaborated, "because the government's established by the Lord, you know. And, that's what we believe in the Christian faith. That's what's stated in the scripture."

Romans 13... Romans 13... where have I heard that one... oh yeah!

The Nazi government led by Hitler used Romans 13:1 against the resistance movements in the German church. Nazi leaders argued that since Hitler was duly elected, opposing him was opposing God's instituted authority. Faithful opposition countered by saying blind allegiance to Hitler was idolatrous and that what he proposed and lived out clearly opposed Scripture: "We must obey God rather than any human authority" (Acts 5:29)...

Romans 13:1 in its proper context says government is to uphold good (godly) behavior and punish bad (13:3). We're to honor this authority, but there are limits beyond which we will not go. This cost many in Germany their lives! - link

So, theoretically, some sort of incident could be whipped up along the lines of Operation GLADIO, Bushco whips out Martial Law, and the Patriot Pastors will quell my fears, huh?

GLADIO Crest

That worries me.

Some have been a little more prescient than others on this train of thought, among them, Aldo Vidali;

I was raised in fascist Italy until age 17 and will never forget the ugliness of totalitarian control over people's lives. After two years in Brazil, I came to America in 1949 and wept when I saw the Statue of Liberty.

Today, in horror, I see all the unmistakable signs of a new wave of fascism, cleverly concealed behind pseudo-patriotic, Christian rhetoric...

Nazis prided themselves on their technology while clinging to ancient beliefs about "blood and soil." Neo-Christianoids or pseudo-Christians believe that the three important aspects of their eventual world dominion are: (1) a state-of-the-art satellite system (and its television broadcasts); (2) fundamentalist schools (with their emphasis on crackpot science and racist school texts); and (3) a fundamentalist church system in control of the state through cult control of congregations.

Most Neo-Christians in this post-Christian era are Christianoids who use the pulpits of various disguised branches of old Calvinism to promote an elitism that they hope will eventually replace democracy with a plutocratic oligarchy of the rich and Christianoid leadership. Their mission statement is a mixed blend of early Gnosticism, the anti-Gnostic Medieval Church, anti-Catholic Puritan ideology, anti-Luther/Calvinist Counter-Reformation, and a fascist view of the state as the ultimate expression of Christian faith. Rarely do we find among them devotion to the real teachings of Christ beyond the most superficial lip service. The Christian Coalition resembles Christianity as much as the Spanish Inquisition represented Christ's love and compassion.

It's the "Christianoids" that worry me.

1. Aw, HELL, no!
Let them try to make me kneel to their false gods of tyranny and greed.

I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

4. You want me to leave my own country rather than stay and fight for it?
I'd rather not. It's your country just as much as it is mine.

Besides, passport or not, if these yahoos are allowed to continue, they'll do as Nazi Germany did and start invading one country after another until they break down the door to my little hideaway overseas. At that point, I will be in dire need of a new plan...

3. A simple test...
Go up to a suspected christo-fascist and slap them...

Christians turn the other cheek.
Or so I've been told.

8. There was indeed opposition
" The Confessing Church, whose leaders included Martin Niemöller and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, opposed Hitler's "German Christians" and was forced underground as Nazi pressure intensified."

6. As long as Bush and the rest of the Crime Family
along with the MSM, provide the sheep with sports and celebrity stories and shows. Most sheep will baa their way through martial law, and if there is mass disappearances or executions, well those are "bad" people.

9. I don't think these are mainstream peeps at all.
Remember the mainstream Christians - Presbyterians, Methodists, Episcopalians, etc. were part of the coalition of Christians against the war.

I don't think there will be blind following of any cult figure if martial law is stupidly introduced. Remember -- there are 300,000 million of us and how many of them? Ha.

We won't all lay down at once.

10. If Bush declares martial law
the US will cease to exist, and a civil war will start.

They have too many plans that will effect too many people, and the miltary is so broken it will barely be able to keep Blackwater/CACI at bay.

I am thinking by the time it is over, there will be at least two nations, perhaps as many as five. They will have the sort of cohesion that made the holy roman empire what it was... which is to say, neither holy, roman, or an empire.

12. I think one of the most troubling aspects of this...
is the blithe acceptance of the idea that the government has the power to "declare martial law" and "suspend the Bill of Rights" in the first place, even by the media (who should know better).

The Constitution authorizes the suspension of ONE civil right in dire national emergencies, and that is the right of habeus corpus under certain very limited circumstances, i.e. ONLY in case of "Rebellion or Invasion." Not merely a city on fire, not an earthquake, not a bad storm. And nowhere is the government authorized to suspend any of the freedoms in the Bill of Rights, whether the right to speak or assemble peaceably, the right to own and use guns, the right to be free from warrantless searches/seizures, etc.; there is no Disaster Exception Clause in the Bill of Rights.

I'm not sure where the idea came from that all the President (or Congress) has to do is mouth the words "Martial Law," and the Constitution and the Bill of Rights magically disappear and America is automatically under military rule. The supreme law of this land is the U.S. Constitution, not the whim of some government official, and I would hope that most clergy wouldn't shill for such a power grab.
