1. The reality is that "stupid" statements, like stereotypes, contain some
measure of truth.

It is a deeper analysis that shows the difference between total stupidity and lesser degrees.

Wanting another attack because it will give the pukes another opportunity to skate by their failures is more "truthy" because they had control over the original event and planned for it to enable them to lead the country where they wanted to go (Iraq).

I did not realize you were so powerful that you could bring about a depression - just kidding. But it is true that the reality of the depression showed more Americans how the monopoly capitalist system was screwing them over and put enough people in a bad enough situation that they were willing to look for alternatives to the fascist system in place at the time.

I also believe that until things get so bad, Americans are too comfortable and lazy to do anything to bring about change.

2. That's a good topic for a satiric essay
A Modest Proposal ... The Loved One ... 1984 ... The Iron Dream ... Stiff Gook Rimming ... they were all denounced as one form of "stupid shit" or another in their times. The idea that a new Depression will instill virtue into the decadent American soul has been suggested from time to time since WW2. Our own side has been especially fond of calling for a new depression, especially among the Peak Oil interest groups.

You do know Bykofsky was parodying Charlie Gibson, right down to his idiotic, staccato writing style ... right?

3. HaHAH!! That other thread accused us of "missing the point" of KKKarl's "vision".
I replied that the ONLY effectiveness KKKarl had was SOLELY his SLIME. Nothing to do with "vision."

4. DUers should e-mail Bykofsky
and tell him..."You're no Larry Fields."

His BP and HR would go thru the roof.

Trust me.
