The Magical Vanishing Cheney Quote

In 1998, when fuel prices were about $1.60, I remember Cheney piping up, saying that "rising gas prices are a sign of a failed presidency". I thought, how convenient coming from an energy mogul.

In 2006 or so, I remember someone posting that quote here, and thinking, yeah, he did say that. I wanted to do more research, perhaps find something from CNN or some news site on the quote, and got very few results.

I did a google on it today, and got three results, two of them from this site.

I tried searching many different ways, using "fuel" in place of "gas", "the" in place of "a", and all I got was three hits.

I posted a thread about it on here, maybe late last year, which I can't find through the search function.

It suprises me that the 1994 video of Cheney was even found, but this quote would be something else to challenge him on, were it not wiped from the face of the earth.

This is something else very suspicious, that maybe a lexus search could come up with an actual article result. This would be a great news story.

4. I see cheney got more shredding than from the one in his Md house

I will bet anything, everything negative about bush and cheney that could be used against them, and I think they suspected impeachment, is what was culled out of the archives. And we will never see it again. It was probably taken directly to St. Michaels, Maryland and shredded.

A google of that Clinton quote "It depends on what the defenition of is, is" got over 1 million hits.
