Hasn't been mentioned here much yet, but Hurricane Dean may be worth really worrying about. |
|
With the water so incredibly warm and the current environment in which Dean will soon head, as well as a few projections that have it going into the Gulf then perhaps heading for Texas or Louisiana, this is a storm that really must be watched. I just have a very bad feeling about it - NO ONE needs this sort of thing heading their way. Please, anyone in the general area of its direction, keep an eye on it and get the hell out of there if it seems to be heading your way. This sucker could end up at Cat 5....hope I am wrong. Be safe, everyone. I think that the relatively inactive season thus far, and the various charades of Bush and company, give people a false sense of security. (it is now a cat 3 already - 125 mph winds with 160 gusts!).

2. If it gets into the gulf, somebody is horribly screwn. |

Once it gets into the gulf, the only way out is over land. The water off Clearwater Beach is over 90 degrees again. I've gotta leave town Monday, to check on my ailing mother in South Carolina. But, I'll keep a real close eye on this sucker for my wife and dogs.
