Have Jehovas Mass Produced?
Edited on Sat Aug-18-07 12:01 AM by Banned_Wagon
I am just wondering. Because lately there has been a flurry of these people going door to door. I kid you not, in the last 2 months I have had over 5 of these groups knock at my door.
I always tell them we are Wiccan, and they run away fast.
So anyway, what gives with these people? Why do they deem it so important to ram their Government created scripture down my throat? What gives them the right to knock on my door and disturb me while I watch the nightly Rapture Report?

With that said, I have purchased the following decal for my front door. I would recommend this to each of you who find this form of religious promotion offensive.

It can be found here:

Perhaps I should order another for the back door, these people are covert in their religious operations.

3. Good Idea
My late father-in-law used to invite them, get out his Bible, and preached until he wore them out. Worked every time; he was left alone for a year or two.

Me, a believer in my own way, just smile and say no thanks, I'm an atheist, and shut the door. I care a lot more about what God knows than what these annoying people might think.

10. I really used to invite them in
to try to convert them to Atheism. I tried this with Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses. Invite them in--offer the Mormons Sprite or Ginger Ale--make some tea for the Jehovah's Witnesses, and then start arguing politely with them. Really try to convert them, to challenge their beliefs. It was always a fun way to pass an afternoon, and they kept coming back like clockwork. Took them months to actually give up. I never converted any of them and they never converted me, but we had some good times.

4. I've noticed a lot more Jehova youth lately
It's always two teenagers dressed in white on their mountain bikes. Poor kids.

9. I thought those were Mormons
In our area Mormon young men wear white shirts and dark pants when they proselytize.

The Jehovahs usually are very nicely dressed and come in pairs, usually one white and one African-American. They arrive in a group and work the neighborhood in pairs. Sometimes they bring kids.

From: "Aunt LibE's Field Guide to Religious Pests"

Anecdote: Aunt LibE's brother, when answering the door to such people, screws up his face into a terrifying expression, rolls his eyes, and roars "I'm possessed by DEMONS!" Then he hisses. They always flee.

5. I don't understand a culture that has no "feast days"
And by "feast days", I mean ANY special day of celebration or commemoration.

No Xmas or Easter (or equivalent religious days). But also no birthday celebrations, no Thanksgiving, no New Years. No special meals. No gifts.

It seems that Weddings are about the only time they get together for a special occasion.

I know all this because we had some Jehova tenants living in our house.
