Organization that helped Florida scrub voters in 2000 caught editing Wikipedia
I found that Choicepoint, the database organization that scrubbed black voters that shared the same information as felons in 2000, has been caught editing Wikipedia.

Here are some of the corporation's edits.

Deleted references to Greg Palast's book, "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy" and the US Commission on Civil Right's report on voting irregularities in Florida during the 2000 Election. Here

Deleted all the criticisms regarding Choicepoint's work in Florida. Here

Deleted references to Database Technologies, the service that was used in Florida. Here

Deleted it's diversity rating. Here

Deleted quotes about it. Here

Deleted all external links except for one (The one that goes straight to it's website). Here

Deleted a request to clean up the page on it's talk page (Which I believe is not allowed by the way). Here

Deleted the entire talk page. Here

Propaganda. Here

Wrote clear propaganda and deleted the information about Florida in the process. Here

Removed a clean up request. Here

What will historians, if there are any left after the coming of the Age of Totalitarianism followed by the New Dark Age, say about the generations that allowed it to happen?

12. Straight out of the playbook
If you don't like what history has to say about you, delete it.

On the surface, this is laughable, especially since wikipedia doesn't allow proxies, so you have to leave your fingerprint when you do things like this. On the other hand, if someone doesn't reload the info, many idiots say "well, it's not on wikipedia, so you're wrong!"

18. ChoicePoint tricked into disclosing info on 140,000 people
from http://money.cnn.com/2005/02/17/technology/personaltech/choicepoint/

ChoicePoint: More ID theft warnings
ID company says criminals able to obtain almost 140,000 names, addresses and other information.
February 17, 2005: 1:10 PM EST

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - ChoicePoint Inc., a national provider of identification and credential verification services, says it will send an additional 110,000 statements to people informing them of possible identity theft after a group of well-organized criminals was able to obtain personal information on almost 140,000 consumers through the company.

According to a statement on the ChoicePoint (Research) Web site, the incident was not the result of its systems being hacked but rather caused by criminals posing as legitimate businesses seeking to gain access to personal information.

ChoicePoint said the criminals may have gained access to people's names, addresses, Social Security numbers and credit reports.

The company said Tuesday it sent warning letters to 30,000 to 35,000 consumers in California, the only state that requires companies to disclose security breaches. ...

My comment:
The incident was caused by ChoicePoint's failure to background check these criminals. What gross incompetence!

How is it that Wikipedia permits anyone to edit copy . . . without it's being reviewed?
I thought if you wanted to add something it had to be reviewed --
and I couldn't imagine that something on the website could be removed without any checking what was happening -- !!! ???

After the fact. Anyone can edit a Wikipedia entry. However, there are many members that will monitor changes and re-edit. You'll find that even the most innocuous topics have long, long editing histories. Wikipedia also bans the IP numbers of users they determine are vandals. Stephen Colbert is the most famous to be banned this way. The topic that he told his audience to edit (elephants) was locked so that only authorized Wikipedia members could alter it.

26. Ha! Of course ChoicePoint would do this. I think Wiki is in trouble unlelss (K*R)
they do something about this. If their accuracy was equal to Brittanica a year ago or so when that
comparison was done, it certainly isn't now. This is a huge security risk. We're going to find that
any number of corporations are going there and "fixing" the text to read the way that they want.

27. The Irony of Trying to "Disappear" the USCCR Report
One of the first unlawful acts of the regime -- perhaps the first -- was an attempt to stack the US Comm. on Civil Rights with a "loyal bushie" in violation of the appointment rules that help to keep the commission non-partisan. They failed.

The irony is that the official position of the US Federal Gov't, embodied in the USCCR's legally-binding conclusions, is that the 2000 election in Florida was both racist and unlawful.

Therefore, the regime has in fact -- not opinion -- been illegitimate from day one.

30. DBT was founded by Hank Asher, there are links to Florida that may seem
obscure or "coincidental"-and damn, The Center for Missing and Exploited Children Board of Directors has Mr. Asher and a lot of other connections worth another look at for many reasons.

Btw, some of the links in this archived thread have been "neutralized"-yet they were all good at the time of the postings, as can be gathered by the discussion.
