Muslim discord has foreign roots
Division among Islamic world has external roots and is created as a result of enemies presence and interference in regional affairs, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the Fourth Ahl-ul-Bait General Assembly, he said: "Islam is a complete truth which is partly seen in Judaism, in Christianity and in other divine faiths."

President Ahmadinejad said the American invasion of Iraq and its occupation as well as massacre of defenseless people of Palestine and Lebanon were clear examples of America and the Zionists crimes against humanity.

Noting that the enemies were trying to sow discord among Muslims, the President said: "Despite all these efforts they (enemies) are caught in a quagmire from which they would hardly find a way out."

Noting that Zionism was the pioneer of Western-style Liberal Democracy and the vanguard of occupation and aggression worldwide, he said, "The Zionist regime is the flag of Satan."

Iran: Israel the standard bearer of Satan

Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday that Israel was the standard bearer of Satan and the Jewish state would soon fall apart, the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported Saturday.

“The Zionist regime is the standard bearer of invasion, occupation and Satan,” he said, predicting Israel’s eventual demise. “When the philosophy behind the establishment of a regime is in question, it is not unlikely that it will find itself on a course of decline and dissolution.”

Ahmadinejad has made many anti-Israel comments in the past, the first public statement to this effect occuring during an October 2005 speech, when he said that Israel's "Zionist regime should be wiped off the map." He has since then repeatedly predicted that Israel would disappear.

Recently, the Iranian president launched a controversial verbal attack on Israel when he said in early June 2007 that last year's war between Israel and Lebanese militant group Hezbollah had started a "countdown" that will end with Lebanese and Palestinian militants destroying the Jewish state.

1. Ahamadinejad has forgotten the old story of the blind men and the elephant
Each grabbed hold of a portion of the elephant-some only the tail, others, the whole side--but, though each had a bit of the elephant, none knew and understood the entire exact true nature of the beast. Such is it with all the religions as they try to understand God--each is a bit right, but none have the whole truth--and by saying so, are in the wrong.

2. Is there any division in the "Islamic world" over the question...
of same-sex marriage?

If there is such division in the "Islamic world", what is the source of the division?
