Rapture ready board asks: "What will happen to our military after the rapture?"
I wonder how many Christian men and women there are in our military? Can you imagine what that will do to our military force after the rapture if there is a heavy number of believers?

===

I would say at least 75% are Christian, give or take. During the first Gulf War, many came to know the Lord. From what pictures I've seen from this one.. they have hole with plastic filled with water for water baptism. So, there's probably more than we realize today.

===

I've seen those pictures too. What an awesome witness to be baptizing in the Name of Christ in the middle of the Muslim world!! You know that our Awesome Lord is using this!!

He is sooooo good and I love Him soooooo much!! I can't wait to go home!!

===

I know this is a bit off topic - but I can't feel sorry for people if they are left behind - because they have the exact same chance of salvation as I did.

I would not estimate the number of military that will be raptured - but I know America will be crippled do to alot of people missing and killed.

===

The Rapture is why America is not in the Bible. It's not because we get blown up by a nuke or an economic collapse. It's most likely the Rapture.

===

I was getting angry when people said America is going to suffer an economic collapse or suffer a nuke all because we aren't mentioned in the Bible. I kept trying to tell people the Rapture is why we aren't mentioned. I've always known America is not in the Bible.

===

agree that you'd be surprised------------My Honey is Active Duty Air Force, and he says it's more like 1%. I think that's a bit low of an estimate, but he's the one around a lot of other active duty folk.

The amount of political correctness & watered down "religion" is sickening as well. A few years ago, at CHRISTmas time, someone in base housing actually had a satanic star on the side of their house, made out in CHRISTmas lights. It was VERY obvious that it was satanic, and they had nothing else out at all. Because everyone's beliefs HAVE to be respected now, I guess "they" had to allow that as well.

We live in base housing, and though I know that there are some CHRISTians in this neighborhood somewhere, there don't seem to be any on my street, aside from my family. We've tried to be nice to all who are around us, but once it gets around that one is born-again and won't be sitting out drinking w/everyone else, one becomes the local freak----------------

Y'all be blessed!

===

Post removed - see RR riules regarding the fact that this is a Pre-trib board only!

===

The reason the US seemingly is not in prophecy is simply that it will probably be torn by civil strife or become a puppet of the EU. With the push for a north American Union, my bet is on civil strife, probably climaxed by an invasion from South America as the US/NAU becomes blind and defenseless.

===

This board is pre-trib. There is a difference between "prosperity Christians" and those who believe in the pre-trib rapture of the church....prosperity gospel is a false teaching and not all those who believe in pre-trib rapture are into this false teaching, just as all of those in the properity gospel are not necessarily pre-trib! :crazy:

===

Col. Ollie North and others have openly commented that the figure is at least 75% AND IN MANY UNITs 90%+

===

You know, the scary part is that all the ones that don't get raptured will have the big guns...

35. This is what religion is all about.
*ALL* religion is based on believing stuff that simply
isn't true.

This is just the extreme degree of it, but *ALL* religion
is based on the same sorry credulity.

4. Um.... why are they worried?
Aren't they gonna be raptured? Aren't we nonbelievers supposed to slug it out for a thousand years after the event? And as to all the nonbelievers having the big guns... duh... all the believers went upstairs. Not only do the nonbelievers have all the big guns they have all the little guns, the mid sized guns, and the nonexistant guns as well.

5. Someone....
Someone should point out to the rapture folks that if they really care about America, they should be electing people who won't be raptured. Otherwise, there will be a breakdown of the chain-of-command when everyone is taken up. Save America: elect atheists!

On the other hand, maybe we could take up a collection so these poor folks can receive intensive therapy and come back to reality.... :crazy:

14. Just a reminder of one of the services offered by atheists: Post Rapture Mail
http://postrapturepost.com/

A group of atheists have established a web site and service that allows true believers to send loved one's mail from heaven. They establish an account and provide the messages to those they wish to send them to after the rapture. As the atheists aren't going anywhere they will then deliver the messages after the rapture to any they are requested to.

24. That's going way too far.
I won't get into how I'd define religion--being an atheist it isn't my concern anyway--but calling it a mental illness is wrong. Jesse Jackson, Martin Luther King, and Jimmy Carter are three that come to mind quickly as being very religious, and clearly not mentally ill.

25. Careful there
Some of the greatest minds in history have been religious individuals. Isaac Newton arguably one of the greatest minds to ever exist believed quite strongly in his religion.

We all walk a path. The path we each walk defines the world and how we come to see it. The things these people have experienced and been taught defines them. It is not a question of sanity that defines their beliefs. Its about what they have learned and experienced. We may perceive their world view as socially destructive but it doesn't mean they are insane. If you assume religion is the result of insanity then you do not understand the situation or human nature.

33. Lots of great minds were racists, sexists, wife beaters, slave owners, etc, etc
Doesn't make it right.

Religion is society's appendix. It used to have a purpose in primitive society - namely primitive science and primitive government. Society developed replacements, namely science and actual democratic government. Ever since, religion has been flopping around seeking a real role in society. It has tried condemnation of everything from the earth being round, the earth revolving around the sun, man evolving as every other organism has, and on and on. Proved EVERY SINGLE TIME to be wrong. And it interjects itself into such bullshit as the abortion issue, euthanasia and teaching evolution in schools, again seeking a role for itself in modern society where there isn't one.

Yes, many great men in history were Christians. You neglect to mention it was DEADLY not to be. Ya know, because Christians are such open minded, wonderful, peaceful people,, they would KILL you or banish you if you didn't join their invisible friends club.

And even if they were Christian by choice, so what? The same argument you used to justify religion could be used to justify racism, slavery or wife beating. Ya know, because great men do it, it must be good. Just because someone is great at something doesn't mean everything they do is right. It is a common fallacy, but WRONG. You know, many of the Founding Fathers owned slaves - does that make slavery a good idea? Of course not.

Religion is also preposterous waste. Every time I see a church I FUME because I imagine instead of an empty million dollar church teaching bigotry and insanity, it could be a community clinic, a library, a community center or any number of useful facilities. New Orleans is full of poor neighborhoods with huge, gleaming churches. That is fucked.

Religion is society's appendix. Simple as that. The sooner we get rid of it, the better off we all will be.

(disclaimer: spirituality is not religion)

34. Do you still have your appendix?
We don't just lop them out you know. There is pain and danger involved in removing them. I would argue that it is dogma that is the thing to combat. Religion serves a great many purposes beyond just telling people what to believe. Perhaps one day we will develop structures in our society that fulfill the functions of tying communities together that religion does. But they are not in place yet.

belief in the face of contrary evidence is a virtue. It fosters irrationality and gullibility in that respect, but I really think we're hardwired for it some sense. People seem to always seek meaning and order, even when there is none.

26. I love this: "...this is a Pre-trib board only..."
For the uninitiated, there are three times that the Rapture is predicted to occur, depending upon your particular interpretation of the bible.

There is the Pre-Tribulation rapture, which means that the Xians will vanish before the Great Tribulation lasting 7 years.

There is the Mid-Tribulation rapture, which means that the Xians will vanish halfway through the Tribulation at the 3½ years.

And finally there is the Post-Tribulation rapture, which means that Xians will vanish after the Tribulation. These unlucky bastard will suffer along with everyone else.

Needless to say, most Xians prefer the Pre-Tribulation position, even though there is ample biblical support for the other positions.

The Rapture board shows this division in the post that states "this is a Pre-trib board only."

Basically the Tribulation is when God removes his protection from the inhabitants of Earth and lets Satan and his "boyz" the Antichrist and the Beast run wild.

people's opinions have to be respected. She obviously finds something wrong with that.

The reason they care what is going to happen is that they want to be able to enjoy seeing the rest of us suffer. They think they will be up there getting to watch it, vindictively. It is amazing that they think they are Christians. They don't know the first thing about it.

38. St. Peter: "Oh, I'm sorry, the Branch Davidians were right. Elevator's to the left. Toodles!"
Something like that.

Look, if you're raptured, then you're beyond the physical realm and, presumebly, won't be so smug about being a CHRISTian anymore.

The physical realm will have to struggle on without you. Imagine, what will the scientists and engineers and the like be able to do now that YOU won't be endlessly harassing schools to teach intelligent design, denigrating science and technology, promoting Reaganomics, and cutting funds for schools?

Yeah, I'm sure it will be Hell on Earth here. Nuclear fusion, electric cars, a huge portion of the population educated, married, healthy, and comfortable while they enjoy the blessings of liberty and freedom, low crime, low poverty, and Fox News bankrupt.

Hell, I tell you. Imagine! Economic policies that STRENGTHEN the family unit by enabling one-income families to have and raise children in a nice neighborhood, in a nice house, with a car and a yard. One spouse at home to clean and cook and help with homework, one to make the money. Kids see stress-free parents exhibiting love and affection for each other, not squabbles over long hours and disharmonious working schedules and 'overtime because we need it'. Two or three weeks of vacation a year, retirement plans so that grandparents can help their children take care of the grandchildren.

Wow. The horror.

Tell you what, CHRISTians, the sooner you get raptured, the better.

Dibs on your car, BTW!
