http://hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/woalert_read.php?cid=13030&cat=dis&lang=engDownpours on the Spanish holiday island of Mallorca on Tuesday sparked flooding in numerous streets and subterranean car parks as well as in an underground train station, reports said. Heavy rainfall also caused flooding in northern Spain: a storm on Tuesday washed four yachts onto the beach in the Basque coastal city of San Sebastian. Mallorca's capital Palma de Mallorca saw its single underground train line temporarily out of action due to one station being flooded. Authorities issued a weather warning as rainfall of up to 50 litres per square metre was recorded. In neighbourhoods including Capdepera, Alaro, Binissalem, Inca and Manacor firefighters were called to pump floodwater from streets and low-level houses. The bad weather had on Monday forced the cancellation of two ferry crossings between Palma and Barcelona. The current conditions are set to last until Thursday, meteorologists said.)
