Poll question: the most important presidential quality |
|
If you had to pick one and only one characteristic that represents to you the most important for a president to exhibit, whether privately or in official capacity, what would it be?
I'm not asking what you think Americans are most likely to vote for, although if it's on the list and electability is most important to you, feel free to pick it for that reason. And I'm not asking about "native-born American" or "has served less than two terms as president already" or "has vice president from another state" since all of that's pretty much legally required anyway.
Just answer with what you would most like to see in a future president. If it's not on the list, pick "other" and add a post describing it to whatever level of detail you think appropriate. And it doesn't mean the ideal president would lack other redeeming traits, just that this is one you think of as most important.
"There can be only one!"

1. I think the first two qualities are of extreme and equal importance |
|
And cannot really be viewed as alternatives in a good leader. Compassion without a clear analytical mind may achieve nothing; a clear analytical mind without compassion may achieve the wrong things.

2. agreed, they are extremely important |
|
Some might say the two combined form the core of wisdom.
However, as they are easily separable important traits, for the purposes of this poll I felt compelled to separate them.
I find it interesting that in separation the two receive less than 20% of the vote...
