Maher's talk is written so well and so incisively, for a moment I could imagine it was a rehearsal of his first "New Rules" segment for the year. Or his first opening monologue.
This guy's a national treasure, I always Tivo it and enjoy it, and because I have a lot of friends who can't afford cable and are barely making it, I'm going to record it for them. One of them's a diehard Republican who can see no wrong - but who likes what Maher says. Maybe it might turn him around.
