ABC is doing a story on Kid Nation. |
|
Four kids accidentally drank bleach. One came back with bruises. NM has changed its child labor laws to prevent the show from coming back. They're casting for Kid Nation II.

8. It's a new reality TV show to air this fall. It's ALL kids who will build their own town/community . |
|
With no adults to help. They do it all on their own.

She loves "reality" shows and I ask her who the hell is filming this, and who is editing this and how many people does it take to work on the set?
I use to work for a company that had a TV studio and filmed a daily craft type show. There were near 20 people needed to film it each day.

13. Yup. I used to run a small studio |
|
We filmed national commercials.
It took no less than 80 people to film a simple shoot, no foley, no CGI, no green screen, no stunt aspects, no 2nd, just a simple shoot.
The idea that these children were EVER alone even while taking a shit is absurd.
There were HUNDREDS of adults on set, INCLUDING a pediatrician full time, nurses and paramedics.
Long story short, your children are MUCH LESS SAFE at their summer camp of choice than they would have been 'on their own' on this show.
Big NOTHING story here, as far as I am concerned.

7. CBS must have run a cost benefit analysis and decided they'll make enough |
|
money off this show so the cost of the lawsuits won't hurt their bottom line much.

15. the only lawsuit that's been filed was thrown out of court |
|
the girl who burnt her face with grease when cooking. Her mom sued even though she oked this bullshit.
The shows already in the can, no fatalities.

16. and there you go, CBS took a gamble and they've most likely won. |
|
the whole premise of this show os weird and the parents that actually signed those waivers are either stupid or selfish or both.

12. The only reason ABC is doing this story is that the show is a potential hit on a rival show |
|
ABC is probably just pissed they didn't buy the show themselves.
