Continuing to find parallels between the Bush Crime Family's activities and those of Hitler's Germany or the Soviets under Stalin or Orwell's novels Animal Farm and 1984 is beyond pointless and, in fact, becoming tiresome and crushingly redundant. The comparisons are so obvious, so blatant, so calculated, so fibrous, it is like comparing water to . . . water.

Therefore, it is only business as usual to find the Bush Crime Family has now declared that the White House Office of Administration is no longer subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). This closing off of one of the deepest pustules of Bush corruption from court-ordered and Congressional-mandated public scrutiny comes in a motion filed Tuesday by the Bush Justice Department in an attempt to prevent the release of millions of emails missing from White House servers. A lawsuit had been filed last May by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a nonprofit, government watchdog group seeking access to what would be a treasure box filled with evidence of impeachable corruption and violation of the law.

Congress has sought access to these emails as part of its probe into the administration's firing of nine U.S. federal prosecutors in 2006. According to today's Washington Post, "Much of the White House, including the offices of President Bush and Vice President Cheney, is not subject to FOIA, which allows the media and the public to demand disclosure of federal public records. But the Office of Administration, which was formed in 1977 and handles various administrative and technology duties, responded to 65 FOIA requests last year and even has its own FOIA officer, records show." Yes, but, reality is what The Red Queen says it is. Therefore, in its 20-page motion, the Justice Department argues that past behavior is irrelevant; what may have happened yesterday or last year or . . . whenever, no longer applies. Definitions have changed. Words have new meanings. Language has shifted, as have shapes, forms, points on the compass. The Bush Crime Family "creates" its own reality. As did the Nazis, Stalin, Orwell's O'Brien and the pigs of Animal Farm.

So, yet another attempt to pry truth, honor, leadership, dignity, or even competence from this filthy administration ends as it started: With Bush's utter contempt and disrespect for the rule of law and the authority of the US Constitution.

When will the American people declare they have had enough of this and remove from office - legally and peacefully - the most corrupt and threatening regime in US political history?

27. This is my third night listening to Mike Malloy and I'm officially a truthseeker now!
I don't know why I didn't realize how much I liked him before. He's the best person on talk radio save for maybe Amy Goodman (but that would be like comparing Apples and Oranges).

I may not agree with him 100% all the time, but he's always honest about what he feels and he doesn't have double standards for Democrats and Republicans. That's why he's the best voice on radio.

29. Good evening ralps and Fellow Truthseekers!!
I'm getting ready to go to watch Ms. Amanpour's 3rd segment in the series!

Mom's companion is doing better and is in a room besides the surgical intensive care unit. Yay!!

Still no Nosy, and I've been in tears quite a bit today. When I was at the Humane Society/Adoption Center today looking for him, it was 104 degrees and the heat index was 115. I really didn't think that I'd find him there, but he's on a list of missing pets, and they knew that I was serious because I would tear up when I didn't see him in any of their many facilities. I think the fact that I took pictures, and was choking back tears let them know that I'm very serious about finding him!

Please send out vibes for him to just get his ass home, but it's not looking good. I'm very sad, but :hi:  and Peace, Truthseekers!

64. Hey smokey nj!!!
Please keep thinking about him and us and send positive vibes our way.

I hope that you realize that I truly didn't mean any snark in my late post to you last night. Nosy just wouldn't keep a collar on, and I don't to this day know where to take an animal to get it chipped. We're still dealing with ear tags, and I swear Nosy would've come up with a way to get rid of that, too.

Yeah, while I was at the Humane Society today the temp sensor in my car registered 104 and the heat index is 115. This is what has me so panicked about him.

:hi:  Peace!

68. I didn't take any offense at your post. My kitties don't wear collars either.
I haven't tried to make them, I can't imagine that they'd take too kindly to it. They aren't chipped either. I hope he comes home. Have you asked your neighbors to check their garages. My sister's kitty got out a few years ago in the middle of a stretch of brutally cold weather and she got a call about a week or so later from a neighbor who found him in their garage.

96. I can't imagine that he'd be in the immediate neighbors' garages,
as he fights with their cats when they come onto his turf. One of those cats is declawed, so I always had to go ring the neighbor's doorbell when that one would get out as it wasn't gonna be a fair fight. Perhaps Nosy's fighting spirit should infect the dems in Congress? Less dry powder and more bared claws?

58. Hi tnlefty !!! I'm so sorry.

I will keep sending "Time to Go Home" messages to Mr. Nosy. You might want to check with local Vets' offices too! I found my cat there once. Someone was kind enough to pick her up and take her to get medical attention.

But hang in there and take care of yourself.

Love,

77. Hey Ms. November!!
And thanks, keep sending 'get thy ass home' vibes to Nosy. I've already thought about contacting our vet, and the one across the street, and that's it in this area! Rural life and all of that. Today was the day that I needed to get to the Humane Society, if he'd been brought in he would've been past his quarantine time and either in the cat kennel or in the group to go out to be adopted.

The younger cat is basically doing the same thing that I'm doing at home: go out into the woods and check his favorite places, frequently check his favs on the porch, deck and breezeway, and she's out of sorts as she isn't finding him either! :hi:

87. He will find a cool spot in the scorching heat.

I just feel so bad for him and you.

Cat fence in !!!!!

Forgive me, I pester everyone with my cat schemes. If you have a yard that's fenced in or could be, I highly recommend the peace of mind that comes with knowing your critters can enjoy the outdoors but can't take their little butts off your property.

I'm irritating I know, but I've had cats all my life and have lost 3 cats since I've lived in CA. I won't go thru that again.

Anyway, many many hugs to you and our thoughts will be on his Noseness.

115. You're not pestering me, but he was VERY pissed off when I
had to dig up the spider warts, that he loved to nap under, when we put the pool in. He was happy to find them replanted and growing in the same area post-pool, and he would get underneath them. We had to fence in the entire area around the pool, but they (the cats) figured out ways to get under or over it (6 ft'). We also had to put a gate in the breezeway mainly because of the really young kids next door, but anyone could've walked into the pool area and we were open to a major liability there. The cats figured out in short order that they had enough room to get under it even if they had to belly crawl.

Thanks for your good wishes about Nosy - his absence is very painful for me and I'm worried sick.

86. Oh tnlefty, my heart breaks for you.
The not knowing is horrible. Cleo disappeared about 7 years ago, and she was a beautiful silver tabby Persian (no we don't go to breeders - we took her from people who couldn't keep her any longer).

Since she was so gorgeous, I've told myself someone found her and was so entranced they just kept her.

After all, that's how we got Peewee. She showed up one day with one of the ferals I was feeding. The feral would never let me near him, but she marched right up and got her lovin's. She was about 3 months old. I figured someone had dumped her - but maybe she was someone's pet out on an adventure. It was obvious she was not only acclimated to humans, but an extremely affectionate cat. After a couple of days, I opened the patio door to feed New Kitty and her escort, and New Kitty just marched inside the house and never left.

Maybe some kind soul was so entranced with Nosy that he's getting a little R&R someplace else.

122. Thanks catnapper!! And I've taken in a few dogs and cats myself!
When I visited the Humane Society today there were cages full of kittens who were obviously related. I saw 3 mothers who were there with their still nursing kittens. The local Humane Society, along with other groups give spay/neuter certificates and I was furious. If you can go to the Humane Society to surrender a litter of kittens or cats with nursing litters....could you not make the fucking trip to get the certificate BEFORE?   to the point of exploding!

I grew up with both cats and dogs who had litters and their mothers are important in teaching their offspring and it can't be done from a cage! One of the mother's looked so miserable, and I could certainly understand why! Along with spaying/neutering republicans, why aren't people getting the message about spaying/neutering their pets...especially if it's FREE?!

Sorry for the rant, but I just can't adopt them all, and I don't understand.

Please keep sending out 'Nosy get your ass home' vibes and I can only hope that he'll show up! :hi:

140. Oh, tnlefty - I'd never been to a shelter before Cleo disappeared.
I knew I couldn't stand seeing the poor things in cages waiting to be saved from...

But when she disappeared, I had to do it.

The only way I can cope is to tell myself that when I cuddle one of my kitties, I'm cuddling all homeless animals.

They're so much nobler than we are. I just hate all this "dominion over animals" BS.

Sending you love and good wishes!

151. I had been before, as Mr. lefty and I had adopted a young dog
from the local shelter, but I wasn't prepared for the number of adult dogs and no dogs with puppies surrendered, and the overwhelming number of cats. I wish I could adopt them all, but I can't.

Thanks for the good wishes!

is he fixed/neutered, if not, he could be in heat, and if not fixed, he will come home, they always do. I love the kitties, and I remember being just like you, geez, I am still that way when Chloe is not in by a certain hour, but they know where their food is and love, try to take it easy, good to know you are taking all necessary precautions. :hi:

139. Hey alyce douglas!
After the vet and I discussed neutering Nosy very young or delaying it (there was an absolutely insane feral cat running around), we agreed that Nosy wouldn't be neutered until he was older, and that he didn't go out alone until he was older. To make a long story short, Nosy made frequent trips to the vet and his shots were always up to date. They tangled often just because Nosy was out in our backyard, but after one really nasty encounter, the feral cat wasn't seen around here again, and Nosy was neutered shortly after, and this was years ago.

When I say insane I mean a cat who tore the metal garnish vents from the eaves of the house while I was shooting him with a BB pistol. He tore the screens from a neighbor's screened in porch to attack their cat. Nosy didn't go out alone until he was around 18 mos. of age, and he was bigger and ready to defend himself a little better. At that time he didn't stray from our yard, but that changed after he was neutered and the feral cat wasn't causing problems anymore. :hi:

New bed, huh? Have Ms. Sesame & Co. tried it out yet, and if so, does it meet their expectations?

Ms. Nov - awful news for us Quake listeners. Did you hear what they're doing to the lineup next week? Mike goes on tape delay at 11pm! They're changing call letters to KKGN and branding themselves as a "green" station. True, I can stream Mike live once I get home, but I often have to run errands on the way (like tonight) and keep current in the car. :-(

I get so mad at them. Their weekend programming sucks big time and I keep writing to ask them to get Sam and something other than real estate or vitamin shows. DAMMMIT !!!

WTF is a green station anyway??? All of our favorites are green people anyway.

Bad news. Yeah, I listen to Mike in the car and when I get home at night.

Thanks for sharing.

Hope all is well with you.

99. This whole "green" thing is sending up red flags.
They are a Clear Channel station, after all. Are they going to produce a couple of weenie "Let's recycle!" programs at the expense of real progressive voices like Mike and Sam? I guess Randi will run from 6-9 (tape delay), Rachel Maddow from 9-11, and Mike from 11-2am opposite Bernie Ward and Ray Taliaferro. Brilliant counterprogramming, huh?:eyes:

There's been NOTHING on their site about this until tonight. John Scott (Progressive News Hour) has been dropping elephant-turd-sized hints that big changes were coming up, but I couldn't find confirmation. No wonder he was so antsy - he's picking up an extra hour.

93. I had to wait for the delivery guys, then come straight to work

so I expect to go home to see a few loungers on "their" new bed.

I wanted an organic bed, but too expensive. So I found this place in Walnut Creek that has all of this neat stuff for natural living, etc. I got yards of "activated carbon" fabric to wrap around the new mattress to absorb all the toxic chemicals and pesticides they put in bedding. It's horrible. I almost sent the bed back, but I needed something for my back injury, which isn't really getting much better since the old car wreck/

Anyway, I can't wait to try it out!!!!

I saw one commercial today of a marine in a wheelchair who wants to go back to Iraq and would if he could, he said. Through the commercial, he looks depressed, a really unhappy man. He didn't look emotionally fit to return to duty, IMO.

over all of these campaign issues ????

I heard what Mrs. Obama said. I never thought she was talking about Hillary. Ferrrchrissakes!!!

What is wrong with these people? Petty petty petty. It's soooo old already.

And I don't even watch TV.

127. I don't understand how they construed that to be a smear on HRC.
They're going to swiftboat everybody but Hillary. They SOOOOOO want her to be the nominee, it makes me sick.

132. I think they are all truly losing it.

Like Hartmann says, the right is really afraid of Edwards.

They think Hillary or Obama can't beat the Repub nominee.

Yeah, right.

136. I think they're pushing Hillary because if she's the nominee, they can just go back
re-hash all the shit they did in the 90s. I did it when I was in college, I had a really good paper that I wrote for one class I revised it a bit and used it for another class in another subject the following semester.

138. I hope you got an "A"

:bounce:

I've given up on Al Gore :-( I just don't think he will run after all. That's a downer.

On one hand, Hillary as Pres. would be a pretty funny irony considering how much the wing nuts hate her and how much they did to her when she was in the WH. I think she would stand up to them sometimes. But geez..... how will we ever know who to vote for? Whoever the nominee turns out to be, I guess that's still the rule.

141. I did, in both classes!!
I really don't feel like going through all that Whitewater-VinceFoster-Monica shit again and if she's the nominee and wins the election, that's all we'll get. I've given up on Gore too. I like Edwards or Kucinich. Clinton and Biden are the only two for whom I'd have to hold my nose and suppress my gag reflex. If either one of them is the nominee, I'll vote for them because I'd like a chance to restore sanity to the Supreme Court.

125. Amy Goodman pointed that out yesterday on Hardball
AMY GOODMAN, HOST, “DEMOCRACY NOW”: Well, you know, Mike, I think it is really important to look at the next sentence that...

BARNICLE: Yes.

GOODMAN: ... Michelle Obama said.

And I‘m going to read it, since I wasn‘t the one who said it. After she said that, running your own house, you certainly can‘t run the White House, she said: “So, we have adjusted our schedules to make sure our girls are first. So, while Barack Obama is traveling around, I do day trips. I‘m home before bedtime.”

I think that Michelle Obama was taken out of context, and I do think this is a media contrivance. I think it is a way of the media not dealing with the issues. If they just give us the five-second sound bite, it gives us a very different image of what is being said than if we hear the whole story. And that is what the media has to do in this election.

The issues are too important. They have to stop with the eight-second bites. They have got to give us the whole meal and talk about the issues that are key for everyone, war and peace, life and death. That is when the media matters.

:hi: ralps
:hi: All

Glad to hear that Michelle Obama spot. That incident is the epitome of how "The Liberal Media" distorts OUR political debate in the most base ways. The "News People" should have been laughed off the screen for their nonsense. Instead, they just reinforce each other's insanity...and non-reality takes another victim.

This CRAP IS Truly Horrible.
