The bullshit from bush's visit to KC is just neverending

Bush's visit leaves some residents angry, but not over politics

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Towed and ticketed, several people on the Country Club Plaza are griping about President Bush's visit to the metro.

The president's motorcade made many in the metro smile Wednesday, as he was seen breakfasting with dignitaries and made a speech at the VFW convention.

Bill Cary was not among them, but it had nothing to do with politics.

"What angered me was the fact that I didn't have any notice," said Cary.

He is angry because at midnight Wednesday morning, the city towed his car because it was parked in front of his Plaza apartment on Roanoke Parkway. The problem was that the president's motorcade used Roanoke Parkway. As a result, so for security reasons, police made it an emergency no-parking zone and towed several cars overnight – including Bill's.

"I thought it was stolen," said Cary.

Wednesday morning, on his way to work, Cary said, he and several other unaware neighbors were forced to pay $145 to retrieve their cars from tow lots.

Adding insult to injury, Cary got a $38 ticket for parking in a no-parking zone.

Can you believe this crap? They changed a normally legal parking place to a no parking zone and towed all the cars parked there!!

And in case you missed the article I posted last night, they also closed TWO major interstate highways and several streets in between so el pretzeldente could go eat a biscuit for breakfast before his speech.

Please don't let him come back to Kansas City - ever again!!!

1. Sad isn't it?
To have a president so paranoid, so despised and so afraid of his own people that he can't announce a visit, for fear of protesters his safety.

3. We knew he was coming
but I guess they kept the details of his overnight stay a secret. I can't even imagine how angry I would be if they towed my car for this asshole.

6. Yes
But I mean, and I'm only guessing here, that with a less paranoid president, this car towing thing would have been handled differently. These automobile owners would have received an advance notice like a knock on the door by the SS or a note on their mailboxes.

I lived in Dallas, TX. during the 1984 Repub convention. Reagan 2.0. I saw first hand, the overkill when it came to security. It was like we had been occupied by Germany, circa 1939. Dubya inherited that paranoia from his Daddy. GWHB had security just as crazy as Ronnie's.

Maybe I should re-tell the story of how the Secret Service drew guns on my friend's great dane because the dog threatened Poppy's lunchtime adventure to a Mexican restaurant.

Correct me if I am wrong on this, but wasn't there some sort of article on how Bush Jr. spends bunches more money on security than did Clinton?

5. When I first read it, I thought well they shouldn't have parked in a no parking zone
Then I realized that I know this street and I park there myself at times. It's a LEGAL parking zone. So they changed it to no parking and towed all the cars! What a bunch of crap!!!

These people should send their tickets to the White House.

10. The good news is that the backlash from his visit is largely negative
I have checked the local blogs and most people are pretty pissed off over the roads being closed during rush hour. For a fucking biscuit.
