asking 2008 Candidates to participate in a YouTube discussion about what they will do to meet NBCC's agenda to eradicate breast cancer..
NBCC Letter to Candidates
http://www.natlbcc.org/pdf/2007_candidate_letter.pdfWe are now launching our 2008 presidential campaign, the Breast Cancer Caucus. Our
campaign has several components: a breast cancer public policy platform every candidate
will be asked to support; grassroots education of candidates’ positions on NBCC’s
legislative and public policy priorities; and voter registration drives, including a voter
pledge to consider candidates’ position on NBCC priorities. In the past, we have also
conducted numerous petition campaigns calling for an end to the breast cancer epidemic
through increased federal funding for breast cancer research, access to treatment, and
advocate involvement in decision-making.
NBCC activists are once again ready to push for initiatives that serve the needs of
patients, and all individuals. As a first step in NBCC’s 2008 Breast Cancer Caucus, the
Coalition is compiling information on candidates’ positions that will be posted on our
website and shared with our members and the general public. This is just one part of our
larger campaign to engage women and their families across the country in the
presidential candidate debates, town hall meetings, political platforms, and the election.
We ask that you describe your positions on our public policy priorities and provide a
video, as described below.
By Monday, September 10, 2007, we ask that you submit to us a video of no more
than three minutes, answering the question: “What would you do as President to
eradicate breast cancer?”
Our Breast Cancer Caucus will include an on-line forum featuring these videos. During
October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, NBCC will post the candidates’ videos on our
website, www.stopbreastcancer.org and on YouTube. We will ask the three million
women living with breast cancer, their families, and their friends to review your video,
post their comments, and vote on the candidate they believe will do the most to meet the
Coalition’s mission of ending breast cancer...
