C-Span Hit A New Low With This Morning's "Washington Journal"
Two of this morning's guests, Mychal Massie (National Leadership Network of Black Conservatives) and Allan Sloan (Fortune Magazine) reached the mark of the worst I've seen on the program.

Brian Lamb began the segment with Mychal Massie by asking him what his educational background was. Mr. Massie responded by saying that he began his educational career at 'a ivy league school' but that didn't suit him so he moved to a community college - which one he failed to mention, and then he said he also had a lot of life experience. OK, no education. Brian Lamb said nothing and the show went on with Mr. Massie spouting the nonsense of the religious right. A couple of born-agains called in and praised him.

Next up was Allan Sloan to educate us on the state of the economy. From start to finish of this segment Mr. Sloan told us time and time again that he was unfamiliar with the specifics of the subject, that he was unaware of facts brought to light by callers, that he 'understood the problem but couldn't explain it', or he 'simply did not know'. Why in hell this ignoramus was sitting at the table is still a mystery to me.

Fascist Fridays have always been bad enough but if C-Span has to dip down to guests who have no fact-based opinion, as is the case of Mr. Sloan, a guest so polluted by religious belief and devoid of even the basics of educational background as to be unable to answer the simplest of questions then Brian might as well take the program off the air.

It was disgusting and far beneath the quality of programming normally seen in the mornings.

2. It was awful. Massie was so full of himself he couldn't communicate.

Actually, within one of his replies he contradicted himself....I was yelling at the tv! "You can't have it both ways!" Then I choked and coughed....still have a bad cold but he riled me. And Sloan....whoa! loved the caller from Texas saying that the Fed dumping money last week equals the bailout of the S&Ls.....bushs helping their friends. Never responded to it at all. He also had no comment from a caller citing inflation is caused by the Fed's printing of money. I too noticed all he could say was he had an English major background.....wtf? sorry....but it made NO sense. Social Security a program that will keep us from having to eat dog food but will be different than it is now when adjusted for inflation? wtf? Wall Street and integrity.....depends on your definition of integrity! Just a bunch of hot air. In all honesty, I don't know how Brian could have kept this guy "in line" he was all over the ball park with every reply. But, I'm still going to e-mail Mr. Lamb and suggest he get experts on his show. (Noticed Brian didn't have his wedding band on this morning....I thought he wore one...maybe a little tiff at home has taken his attention?)

On my second edit, first was for spelling: I think I'll just tell Brian Lamb this morning would have been a good time for all open phones!

4. I caught Sloan's segment. I couldn't believe he's a Senior Editor at Fortune...
The guy was totally clueless about ANYTHING! And, he said he's only been at Fortune since July...before that he wrote for the WaPo. He kept saying he was an English Major and so couldn't answer the callers questions. :wtf: I turned it off because it was so disturbing.
